Product Manager (IVD) Epitomics

SUMMARY: The Product Manager for in vitro diagnostics (IVD) will be responsible for leading the global strategic growth and profitability of Abcam?s IVD business by developing and commercializing the necessary portfolio to achieve competitive leadership as a leading supplier to the IVD manufacturers and service providers. Specific responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies for: (1) a multi-year portfolio roadmap; (2) competitive product positioning; (3) targeted marketing to customers in the IVD manufacturing and development segment; (4) maintaining a strategic understanding of customer needs and market dynamics, including relationships with key opinion leaders. The candidate shall work closely with the VP of IVD and key internal stakeholders across: R&D; business development; project management; marketing and; sales development to accomplish the goals and objectives. The successful candidate shall possess a: proven product management track record; strong market and technology domain knowledge of life science and IVD applications; ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams; and; strong commercial expertise in life science service product development. This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and is part of Abcam?s global marketing organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing an overall marketing strategy including strategic fit of Epitomics/Abcam custom services for the targeted markets, customer segmentation, value proposition, and go to market strategy.
Specifying market requirements for current and future IVD IHC products by conducting market research supported by close contacts with customers and thought leaders.
Develop and manage marketing budget in conjunction with Director of Marketing and VP of IVD.
Working with graphic designer and other team members to develop and execute creative marketing campaigns and collateral.
Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical marketing activities.
Develop, track and report on metrics for marketing and sales activities.
Bachelor?s degree in a Life Science discipline required. MBA degree and or advanced life sciences related degree (MS or Ph.D.) or equivalent a strong plus.
Over 5 years of successful product management or market development experience in diagnostic or life science research industry
Experience in gathering and translating customer requirements into product requirements, and driving product development plans
Experienced in new product introduction, R&D processes, and managing product life cycle
Experience in developing and executing both tactical and strategic marketing campaigns
Skilled communicator comfortable working cross-functionally with multi-disciplinary teams and other internal and external stakeholders
Strong domain knowledge of antibody-based applications in the research and clinical sectors
Prior experience working in IVD IHC environment with knowledge of IHC automated solution system is a plus
Strong oral, writing and presentation communication skills
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

Travel 20% - to customer and non-customer sites
