GlobalScholar, a leader in the educational technology market, provides comprehensive web-based assessment and support systems for K-12 educators nationally and internationally. We are looking for a product manager to help move our assessment platform forward.
Key Duties / Responsibilities

This position will focus on developing functional specifications from market requirements, specifically around the core software infrastructure of our assessment solution. The Product Manager will also be responsible for supporting roadmap planning and providing technical leadership in the release planning sessions. The candidate must enjoy problem solving both independently and in team settings and be willing to acquire technical expertise in the solution. Additionally, the candidate must be highly motivated, extremely well organized and possess excellent leadership skills.
Synthesize requirements from several sources.
Write functional specifications including requirements and detailed use cases for new product features.
Explain requirements and project constraints to internal cross-functional teams.
Work closely with development teams during detailed design and implementation.
Analyze and ensure performance requirements are met.
Suggest test plans to the quality assurance team based on requirements written.
Collect and manage requirements from all stakeholders for multiple software solutions across multiple product generations
Track and assist execution of product roadmaps, development schedules and product/component designs
Manage the compatibility of software components and hardware
Spend time with customers gathering feedback and then integrate that feedback into the design cycle
Train others on functional area related topics
Present to internal stakeholders and customers

Education & Knowledge Required
Bachelors in Computer Science, engineering, or related field, Masters preferred
Familiarity with education or educational market desired
Experience / Skills / Abilities Required
2+ years Product Management experience
2+ years business analysis or similar experience in writing technical functional specifications
4-8 years related work experience
Ability to work in or lead small, highly focused teams
Experience with complex web-based solutions
Must be able to define and manage multifaceted processes and/or product issues of a broad scope using independent judgment
Excellent analytical skills
Must be able to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities
Project management background
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Candidate must be comfortable working with remote team members.
Proficient in MS Office and bug tracking software.
