Medical Simulation Corporation (MSC) is seeking visionary, hands-on product managers to join our team. The Product Manager(s) will become part of a team responsible for product enhancements/discoveries necessary to grow MSC?s business franchises. The candidate must have a successful track record of identifying unmet customer needs, working with internal and external resources to develop the concepts/prototypes/inventions needed to translate these needs into a product, developing a business case for the product, and presenting the business case to senior management. This requires a very good understanding of customer/market needs, market trends, competitive forces and competitive technologies. The candidate will work closely with R&D, marketing, sales and operations to develop business proposals for new products, determine project scope and develop user requirements through the use of high-fidelity prototypes.
Principle activities will include:
Investigate and identify revenue-generating opportunities that can be turned into commercially viable products
Review and analyze market studies/reports, trade literature and external/internal sources to formulate areas of product opportunities presented by the market place
Develop relationships with clinicians in the development of new products, product enhancements or the development of new applications of existing technologies
Create product development specifications through the use of high-fidelity prototypes
Work with other members of the product management team (interaction designers, prototype engineers, other product managers)
Maintain expertise as the ?product specialist? by attending procedures, courses, workshops, tradeshows, and staying abreast of industry changes and advancements
Validating the prototype, the product and the business models
Requirements and Qualifications:
A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in software or hardware product management (mandatory)
A successful track record in identifying new revenue opportunities that can be translated into viable commercial products
Ability to communicate effectively with consumers, business leaders and technical staff
Ability to gather, analyze and develop product strategies using a fact-based, data-driven process
Ability to quickly grasp new technology concepts
Ability to travel, up to 25%
Previous experience working in the healthcare field with physicians and/or other direct caregivers is a plus
