We seek a seasoned, high functioning superstar to be the Product Manager for the Knewton Open Platform. The Product Manager will work directly for the VP, Product and will help to develop Knewton?s consumer product. You contribute to the product roadmap, define the requirements, manage a backlog of new product and feature developments. Additionally, you will take a metric driven approach to driving key metrics for the platform. You will work closely with Knewton senior product managers, management, content, data science, design, and technology teams, and with strategic partners. This key role requires consideration for long-term product quality, customer and end user satisfaction, and calls for a highly detail oriented individual with serious entrepreneurial drive and extraordinary flexibility to meet the demands at a high-energy start-up.
Work cross functionally to develop products that make Knewton?s technology available to consumers.
Understand complex business issues and technical challenges and collaborate with teams to capture requirements for projects.
Helps to prioritize projects among competing opportunities, balance customer needs with business priorities, and articulate rationale behind decisions.
Identify internal and external customer needs, generate requirements documents, prioritize and manage projects.
Glean customer insights through data and direct contact with partners and end users.
Monitor and evaluate our positioning in the context of the markets we serve.
Define, analyze, track and improve key product metrics.
Relevant, timely understanding of the landscape for web-based, scalable consumer products.
Experience building products with marketplace dynamics, user-generated content delivery/distribution, social/game dynamics.
BS/BA or equivalent, MBA a plus.
CS background or prior experience as software developer a plus.
3+ years business operations or product management experience with consumer web products.
Understanding of agile product development methods.
A passion for or appreciation of practical use of technology in education.
Ability to construct cost / benefit analysis.
Strong analytical capability and understanding of key financial and business metrics.
