The Product Manager position requires demonstrable product management experience in most of the following areas: full product management lifecycle, voice of the customer, market research and analysis, competitive analysis, proven history of building relationships with key opinion leaders, customers, and industry experts, translating market needs into detailed technical requirements, user persona development and positioning development, experience with software user interface and usability definition, project management of product development teams, strategic planning and product roadmap development, product launches with software products in an FDA-related environment, and product retirement.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Business and Market Planning
Identify market segments and opportunities for new products and services
Analyze market trends, potential customers, competitors; customer needs to determine suitability for invivodata product and service opportunities
Initiate and develop business plans in support of new product and service strategies
Manage Product Programs
Develop an intimate knowledge of customer needs and competitive intelligence, identify global market trends and drivers, and formulate and execute strategic product portfolio planning
Obtain customer requirements and specify product and service features via market research, market analysis, and ongoing communication with marketing, sales, and operations in order to meet customer needs
Develop detailed marketing requirements specifications
Work with Product Development to develop final product specifications for new products
Work with Operations to develop final service specifications for new services.
Validate market requirements to ensure acceptance
Create critical marketing documents to enable successful product development efforts (i.e. Opportunity Overview, Product Strategy, MRD, Market Validation Plan, Product Launch Package)
Lead cross functional product teams
Work with Product Development and QC to ensure timely delivery of validated products
Work with Operations to ensure timely delivery of properly-documented services
Work with Operations to ensure thorough user acceptance testing and integration is completed prior to product or service launch
Work with Marketing and Sales to develop sales training materials and presentations to effectively launch new products and services to the field.
Lead and manage all Go-to-Market efforts for product launch
Define and develop positioning, pricing, and promotional plans for new and existing products and services and manage launch plans
Product Life Cycle Management
Coordinate priorities with Product Review Board
Lead internal efforts to move new products and services through the Product Life Cycle process
Lead internal company communications for all product-related information
Business Relationships
Identify and develop third party business opportunities for software or hardware products to complement invivodata's line of product and services
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business or science-related field; Masters in Business Administration (desirable)
At least 4 years experience in software product management.
Proven Leadership and decision-making ability
Demonstrated leadership in executing market research (voice of customer), identifying unmet market needs, and translating those needs into business opportunities
Demonstrated business planning skills and track record of defining, developing, and launching successful software products
Ability to synthesize information into a compelling story
Customer Focus and interpersonal and influencing skills across the organization
Project coordination and planning skills
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Working Conditions/Environment:
Travel expected 20% - 30% of time
