THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Product Manager is responsible for leading the cross-functional team charged with delivering next generation document and data capture products and solutions deemed necessary for the continued success and financial growth of the Company. This individual contributor must possess a strong background in matrix management and will interact daily with key managers in R&D, Sales, Support and Marketing. Key to success for this position is a leader who can properly capture the needs of customers, prospects and channel partners; align and prioritize these needs to the growth objectives of the Company then clearly communicate these requirements to the cross-functional team for implementation and subsequent delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate product planning and vision: Drive a multi-generational product plan detailing a multi-year vision for the product as well as drive product requirement documents (PRDs) detailing specific need for program success and on-going backlog management.
Product line leadership: Provide cross-functional team leadership as well as represent the product suite in external events, customer opportunities. Collaborate with key internal constituents in Engineering, Finance, Sales, Corporate Communications and Support to align vision, execution needs as well as contribute to day-to-day operational success of the product. The product manager is considered the product evangelist and subject matter expert.
Report product performance: Drive the monitoring and active reporting of product line KPIs and represent these metrics to senior management.
Commercial readiness and success: Drive the internal readiness activities for product launches. Contribute to the creation of key product readiness materials for Sales and partner consumption such as whitepapers, presentations, training content and any other materials deemed necessary for the successful adoption and sell-through of the product line.
Lead the cross-functional ?Bug Review Board? and drive final guidance for issue prioritization and delivery.
Manage relationships with key technology suppliers and OEMs.
Support field operations and product marketing through joint sales calls to key accounts, proposal/bid and development assistance.
University degree with studies in Business, Engineering or equivalent work experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience capturing product requirements, documenting need in PRDs.
Strong technical background: Working knowledge of contemporary development methodologies, and enterprise product implementation requirements
Strong communication skills ? both written and verbal
Proven ability to bring products to market
Previous product management experience; proven ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
Demonstrated experience working with 3rd party vendors, partners to align disparate product roadmaps
Must be an effective communicator with a positive attitude and possesses the desire to help people learn
Fluent in English
Strong finance skills ? demonstrated portfolio management experience ? establishing product price, ASP analysis, Cost of Sales (royalty management), and more
Knowledge of both hardware and software product development and commercialization techniques
Knowledge of human factors, usability a plus
Demonstrated international product, OEM and channel experience
Previous product management experience with SaaS delivered solutions and/or ?middleware? solutions Experience managing a product SDK/APIs with community derived solutions integrating back into core platform
Previous experience working within ? and with ? large, multi-national companies ? both as partners, customers
Thorough knowledge of contracting and licensing process. Ability to effectively negotiate terms and conditions for licenses and contracts with outside parties.
Previous product management for an enterprise class product in any of the following markets: Content Management, Document Capture, Business Process Automation, Enterprise Resource Planning, Output Management or Enterprise Mobile applications
Solid software product management experience: At least five years of software product management experience. Candidates with demonstrated business process automation or document capture experience greatly preferred. SaaS experience is highly desirable.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
Previously performed the function of a product manager or project manager in a software publisher.
