As the SalesForce.com Product Manager, you will be responsible for working with key stakeholders across the Company in defining the overall strategy and road-map for delivering key process improvements, automation and integration efforts in our use of SalesForce.com and downstream systems. This position requires a deep understanding of SalesForce.com platform (functional and technical), a solid understanding of customer business processes, and the ability to be a cross-functional leader.
The Salesforce Product Manager will direct the Internal Systems development team on enhancements and support of the Avalara Salesforce.com functions that are the foundation for Avalara SaaS order management and back office integration. The successful candidate will be the liaison between the internal Avalara Saleforce.com stakeholders and the internal systems development team driving the evolution of eCommerce, order entry, order processing, account management and reporting within the organization. This position requires flexibility to help move a strategic vision forward while ensuring immediate business continuity.
Drive the success of Avalara solutions on Salesforce.com. Leverage stakeholder interaction, market analysis and competitive understanding to define the roadmap.
Translate product strategy into detailed user stories, and then work with designers, developers, and quality engineers to implement these features. Bring a detailed eye for user experience and design to ensure features drive high adoption and stakeholder enthusiasm.
Facilitate communication throughout the development process between a variety of internal teams.
Serve as the Salesforce product evangelist with Marketing, Sales, Operations and Support to help them understand the vision, roadmap and best practices.
Experience and Skills:
5+ years of Product Management experience
2+ years of experience using as well as managing the development and deployment of Salesforce.com applications
10+ years of software industry experience (ERP software and/or SaaS solution a plus)
Demonstrated experience managing the deployment of enhancements and extensions to core Salesforce.com functions
Strong project management skills
Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies
Creative thinker who thrives solving challenging problems
Strong presentation skills to communicate your vision
Demonstrated experience in gathering and transforming stakeholder needs into an actionable product vision and requirements definition
BS/MS in computer science, mathematics or similar
Highly motivated, passionate self-starter, organized, analytical, detail oriented
Previous experience within the ERP/CRM/eComm industry
Previous experience working with globally distributed teams
Previous experience successfully managing a cross-organizational team
Previous experience working with Eloqua (Marketing Automation) a plus
