As part of the Marketing and Business Development department of a fast-growing RF semiconductor company, the Product Manager will assist in the product planning and implementation of Peregrine Semiconductor products throughout the product lifecycle; this role is for the Communication product line for markets such as wireless infrastructure. The Product Manager will work closely with Engineering, Sales and Marketing to help bring world-class products to market.
Roles & Responsibilities
This position will work under the direction of the Product Line Manager and has the following responsibilities:
Initiates and completes Marketing Requirements Document (MRD) and Product Requirements Document (PRD) to be completed with inputs from customers, Sales, and Engineering for new product developments
Develops and maintains new product introduction plans
Plans and coordinates development and introduction of product enhancements to extend/maximize product life/profitability
Develops new product business cases and drives acceptance of new products based on competitive analysis, differentiation of product features, overall customer requirements, and demand
Develops a strong understanding of the product commercialization process and establishes close working relationships with Engineering to implement new products as well as improve/maintain existing products in alignment with the overall business strategy
Assures products are developed on schedule, within budget, and meeting PRD and unit cost specifications
Works with Program Management to ensure new product samples and evaluation kits are available to customers expeditiously
Ensures highest level of customer satisfaction by working with Sales, Applications, and Quality teams
Performs competitive analysis and formulates competitive counter strategies for all new and existing products
Monitors product sales and pricing trends and also margin levels against forecasted contributions
Investigates deviations from forecast and determines appropriate responses
Manages price book for new and existing products through market, margin, and competitive pricing analysis
Develops and conducts product/portfolio update presentations for Sales, distribution partners, and customers
Reviews and updates product datasheets, product briefs, and sell sheets to ensure consistency and high level of quality
Works with Marketing Communications team to issue sales alerts for product updates, end-of-life notifications, or price book updates
Assists in organization of customer events and trade shows
Provides mentorship and support to more junior team members.
Knowledge, Skill and Competency Requirements
Competency is based on education, training, skills and experience. In order to perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and competencies:
Product Management experience in an engineering environment, preferably with a semiconductor company
Understanding of product life cycle from product conception to mass production to end-of-life of products
Understanding of product development process and ability to generate product requirements documentation
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication and technical writing skills
Capability to prioritize tasks, monitor project progress, and report program statuses to management expeditiously
Ability to manage multiple projects, multi-task, and meet established deadlines
Sense of urgency to meet customer requirements and commitment to customer service and satisfaction
Proficiency in MS Office suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
High level of integrity and work ethics
30% travel on average.

Education and Experience:
B.A. or B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
MBA is a plus
Minimum of 7 years of industry experience with 3-5 years of product management or technical marketing role in a high tech environment
Experience in RFICs or analog, mixed signal semiconductors highly desirable
Experience working with cross-functional teams including field Sales, Operations, Quality and Engineering.
