Product Manager Goodreads
Goodreads is looking for a talented product manager to drive the evolution of our site as the world's largest site for readers and book recommendations.
This is an exciting and dynamic role in a well funded, rapidly growing company with excellent opportunity for career growth. Goodreads is a US Top 120 site and the 7th largest social networking site.
The ideal candidate will bring proven technical, consumer internet and user facing product management skills and a solid understanding of online social media and networking.
This role is critical to furthering the quality of the experience we provide our members, to enhancing our competitive position, and to furthering innovation in the rapidly changing publishing industry. We are a product-centric company so we are seeking an experienced product manager with a passion for our mission of helping people find and share books they love.
Responsibilities:
Help define product vision and roadmap for a core piece of the Goodreads product
Work closely with internal teams (engineering, design, sales, customer care), partners, and management to execute on product roadmap.
Write product specs and define success metrics for all projects.
Work closely with design and engineering to bring our projects to life, measure their success, and define and prioritize future improvements. Build, measure, learn!
Manage project schedules and dependencies, and drive cross-functional initiatives.
Prioritize product enhancements & triage bugs
Develop forecasts and business cases, track key metrics.
QA new features to ensure highest quality
Willingness to do whatever it takes to deliver products that delight!
Desired Skills & Experience
Passion for product: conceiving, designing, building, and shipping it. You should be a product geek and a maven of all things product.
Strong sense of urgency. Desire to ship and learn.
Experience as a product manager for a consumer facing website.
BS in technical or quantitative discipline. Ideally software engineering background with a business mindset.
Deep understanding of user interface design and user testing best practices. A good product starts with a good design, and the ability to recognize and innovate on good UI design is crucial.
Experience A/B testing and optimizing user experience.
Highly quantitative. Enjoy analyzing user data - lots of it!
Experience with Facebook Platform and SEO a plus.
Ability to prioritize ruthlessly and get stuff done.
Self-starter with the passion, ability and energy to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Must love books, and really believe in their ability to empower people and improve their lives.
