Product Managers at NetMotion Wireless are highly visible business leaders responsible for researching, defining, scheduling and launching one or more products/services in the Enterprise Mobility Management marketplace. Product managers blend deep technical knowledge and a passion for technology with fact-based judgment and business decision making. You establish and clearly communicate the product vision and roadmap and establish requirements to ensure that your product achieves its functional, revenue and margin goals.
This is a highly-visible role that works closely with individual contributors and decision makers throughout the company, ensuring that every piece of ?the product? is understood, communicated and delivered. You develop close relationships with the sales & support teams, customers and analysts to understand where to make the product valuable, usable and feasible, maximizing the company?s return on investment. You work closely with the marketing team to ensure product positioning, messaging and collateral are optimal and accurate.
You facilitate the vision, roadmap, positioning, requirements and launch activities associated with one or more software products and/or services. As a product owner and the primary voice of the marketplace, you are closely aligned with the development team to ensure timely execution of the roadmap by identifying, prioritizing, scheduling and refining specific features. You will work hands-on with cutting-edge mobile, wireless, and networking technologies and have a direct impact on the direction of strategic and highly visible products.
This position is based at our corporate offices in Seattle, WA and reports directly to the Vice President of Product Management.
Develop a product vision and roadmap, keeping these documents fresh and presenting them to internal and external audiences.
Analyze market opportunities, market research, customer needs and competitive threats.
Establish business plans, market requirements, packaging, pricing and launch plans.
Develop user stories to make sure features and functions accomplish objectives and meet standards for quality and usability.
Define objectives for and manage previews, beta tests and product launches.
Conduct product training for marketing, sales and support teams.
Brief industry analysts and press contacts. Oversee and manage successful product reviews.
Give product demonstrations and briefings at trade shows, seminars and customer visits.
Other duties as assigned
You must have a solid understanding of software product management based on experience in an enterprise software company where you have managed several complete release cycles for one or more products. You will also need a well-established technical background. While you may not have done the coding, you will have to have the ability to speak with and understand developers and translate technical information clearly and accessibly for sales and marketing audiences.
In addition to this you will have:
Minimum of 7 years of business experience with at least 5 years of experience in product management with an enterprise software company.
Hands-on experience in networking, mobile, wireless or security software products.
Relevant product management experience with one of the following: VPNs, enterprise security software products, and/or enterprise IT management software.
Experience managing numerous, complex requirements in an Agile environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and other related software programs
Strong communication skills, including writing and public presentations.
Demonstrated leadership abilities in a matrixed work environment
Thorough understanding of and ability to apply high-tech marketing principles and practices
An undergraduate degree. MBA, advanced degree or comparable work experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated product management experience with a large ISV and start-up environment
