Product Managers in SevOne must champion customer and market demands into Development and QA teams. IT Performance Management is an extremely competitive marketplace, so we need our product managers to be deeply technical. In order to work productively, they need to be able to earn the respect of our talented and demanding account managers, sales engineers and development teams.
Product Managers must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are required to perform live demonstrations of SevOne product features and capabilities via WebEx or on-site with potential customers. Working with customers and SevOne development, product managers must have the technical understanding necessary to gather software enhancement requirements, prioritize market demands and keep up with industry trends.
The successful candidate will likely have significant experience as a successful professional services consultant, technical presales engineer or senior software developer/architect in the Network Management space.
Gain and maintain industry-leading understanding of designated IT management concerns and language in their space.
Design and maintain sample reports, device certifications and management best practices for their domain.
Credibly present SevOne?s solutions to the most demanding consumers of OSS solutions for their domain of expertise.
Justify product strategy decisions based on customer and market demands
Specific experience for the Service Provider Voice & Data product manager:
Based on our success in the 4G/LTE space, we are looking to further extend our platform?s capabilities in this area. To be succesful, candidates should have experience with technologies and services like:
Carrier voice technologies (VoLTE, Carrier IPT)
Optical Transmission networks (DWDM, OTM, PON)
Consumer and SOHO Broadband/Triple-play
Corporate VPN (L2/L3)
And should have demonstrable understanding of the business models of wireless and wireless service providers.
BS/MS in computer science or at least 8 years of graduate-level work experience.
IT Management, Networking and general computing industry certifications are also valued.
A very good working knowledge of network and systems management tools such as the HP OpenView suite, IBM Tivoli suite, CA eHealth/NetQoS/Spectrum, EMC Ionix or other relevant enterprise-grade management tools is required.
Expert knowledge of network performance management is extremely beneficial, particularly an appreciation of the challenges associated with using SNMP and Netflow-based collection approaches to monitor networks.
Experience of working in SCRUM or other Agile development houses is desired.
Organized, extremely high attention to detail, able to manage multiple time-sensitive projects.
Full literacy of MS Office, familiarity with Atlassian JIRA suite is useful.
Ability to work in a fully Microsoft/Windows or Linux environment.
