Vizu is the first company to deliver a real-time enterprise technology platform for the measurement and optimization of online brand advertising. We are looking for a smart, driven, detail oriented person to join our product management team in our San Francisco headquarters office.
This position is an amalgam of product management and solution consulting responsibilities that requires a clear understanding of customer needs, product specifications and competitive positioning to produce solutions that are technical in nature. Product Management/solution consulting experience working directly with advertising technology is a must. The winning candidate will possess that unique blend of business and technical savvy that allows them to understand and assess client requirements, address technical questions and define solutions that address client needs.
You should have a strong understanding of the market landscape and be technically adept at current advertising technologies like ad servers, DSPs, video formats, and various targeting technologies. Background in analytics and online brand measurement is a big plus. You should be up to date on new and emerging technologies in our industry and quickly grasp new business concepts and technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen with the ability to discuss business and technical objectives, and be comfortable communicating solutions with clients and senior management.
In addition, you should be comfortable working closely with our client services, sales and ad operations organizations. You absolutely must be ?hands on? as you will be our sole product solution consultant ? articulating technology solutions with clients and scoping product enhancements. Getting your hands dirty should excite you as should the thrill of a fast-paced start-up environment redefining an entire market segment.
You will be supporting the product management department in writing product scope documents for new products and features and become the product owner/expert for specific components of the product. This role will influence product planning, marketing, business development and sales.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business including custom solutions for complex business scenarios
Manage integrations, on-boarding, and verification of new partners
Coordinate post product launch activities and gather customer feedback to validate that the product works against stated metrics.
Work closely with BD, Sales, Client Services team to identify new technology integration opportunities with clients and be the product expert
Help to identify and understand market needs, define new requirements, help with product planning and scoping of new product features and enhancements (mini-PRDs)
Clearly communicate product capabilities and benefits to our clients and educate internal team members to help bridge technology gaps.
Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations, whiteboarding as needed.
Document and communicate product feedback and new requirements from the field
Respond to the technical sections of RFI/RFP?s as necessary
Work with internal teams to document and train in new methodologies and workflows, ensure the adoption of new tools, and pursue opportunities for improvement
Collaborate with marketing, operations and other cross-functional teams to develop and execute best practices to scale the business
Travel as needed to deliver product expertise and solutions guidance to internal teams and our top clients
Minimum Requirements
Direct experience with advertising technology solutions a must
Expertise in the world of ad tags and how they link together in the ad server landscape
Experience with ad server platforms with an understanding of how rich media operates including video
BA/BS degree, MBA a plus.
3-5 years experience in a product management role with major B2B technology brands, preferably those targeting online media. Direct or indirect experience in a solutions consulting role also required, in addition to 1-2+ years small company / start-up experience.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
Demonstrable ability to comprehend and support complex business operations, and drive efficiencies through process improvements and automation
Excellent quantitative and analytic skills. A solid grounding in statistics is also highly valuable.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Extremely organized and highly motivated.
Understanding of the overall media and measurement/analytics landscape, online advertising and marketing trends.
Understanding of Vizu's strategic and competitive position.
