We are seeking a "best of the best" Product Marketer to be part of a well-funded innovative software startup that is changing the game in Insurance. We've built an exciting, smart and market leading company with a team of A-players. FirstBest Systems is the leading provider of insurance software solutions that help global insurance companies improve underwriting profitability, scale their business and achieve high service levels with agents, across the enterprise.
Are you a standout marketer with great analytical and communication skills? Do you wake up every morning wanting to learn more about your customers' and prospects' business processes and challenges? Do you excel at translating users' business challenges into compelling value propositions? Do your brilliant PowerPoint presentations drive audiences to action? Are you a content creator - from blog posts to tweets to eBooks to Web content to datasheets?
In the first 90 days, you will:
-Develop a thorough understanding of the front office solutions market for insurance and create field training tools.
-Research and create a case study on a leading customer.
-Create and present compelling PowerPoint presentations based on customer pain points.
-Update product pages on the corporate website.
Specific Responsibilities include:
-Drive the company's product marketing efforts for its solution suite.
-Develop clear, compelling value propositions based on business problems that resonate with prospects and customers.
-Build and maintain persuasive marketing and social media content based on value propositions, including case studies, white papers/eBooks, collateral, Web content, presentations, and pitch/speaking abstracts.
-Work closely with the e-marketing function to develop and execute go-to market plans encompassing awareness, demand generation, social media, partner marketing, and create supporting material and content.
-Lead and orchestrate complete solution launches for maximum impact across marketing channels and sales. Create ongoing competitive reports (2 or more per year) and educate internal teams on competitors' positioning, capabilities, and customer base, etc. Own competitive research and analysis for the solution suite.
-Use market, customer/prospect research and analysis to develop and communicate a thorough understanding of the marketplace, industry drivers, user challenges and needs, and future market opportunities. Leverage insurance industry relationships to help drive thought leadership.
-Actively support and partner with Sales and Strategic Alliances team to vet messaging, train teams, and develop and maintain internal and partner sales enablement tools that drive sales and partner success. Partner with strategic partners to develop joint marketing content and programs.
-Team with Product Management and R&D on market analysis and research, business planning, messaging and market positioning. Act as the liaison and voice of marketing & sales to the engineering and product management functions.
-Develop and track product marketing metrics.
-Implement the Pragmatic Marketing Framework at FirstBest.
Required Competencies:
-Financial services expertise - understanding of the financial services software landscape and technology players. Insurance expertise preferred.
-Quick learner who can develop specific core subject matter expertise across a product suite.
-Thinks strategically but acts tactically. Is a doer - someone who loves to gets their hands dirty.
-Strong analytical and research skills.
-Enjoys learning directly from customers and prospects to understand their challenges and needs.
-Outstanding oral, written, and visual presentation skills. Excellent ability to translate complex ideas into easy-to-understand industry terminology. (Examples of past work will be reviewed).
-Skilled at all types of content creation ranging from PowerPoint to blogs and social media to eBooks, Web content and datasheets.
-Fast moving, self-motivated, proactive, creative thinker with exceptional process, analytical, management, and relationship skills.
-Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and others in a result-driven, team-oriented, smart, and fun environment.
-Competence in industry standard marketing automation tools, content and design tools. Candidates will need to demonstrate competence. Able and willing to learn to use new tools as needed.
-Leadership and negotiation skills.
Work Experience and Education:
-7-10 years of product marketing experience in enterprise business application software within a mid- to large size company.
-3-5 years in market analysis/research including competitive research.
-Experience marketing to vertical industries such as financial services; experience with the insurance vertical is preferred.
-Focus on research and writing for marketing.
-Experience managing successful product launches.
-Minimum 2-3 years interacting with customers/prospects; regular field and corporate presentations and meetings with prospects/customers.
-Strong PowerPoint skills.
-Completion of Pragmatic Marketing product marketing and/or product management course.
-Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent a plus.
