The role
As a Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the marketing plans and programs for multiple products in the EIG product portfolio. You will develop the product messaging for your products and manage/oversee production of all supporting content (e.g. landing pages, presentations, videos, blog articles, etc.). You'll also conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand for your products.
You will also provide expertise and thought leadership as a key contributor to our content marketing efforts, which are aimed at engaging and educating small to medium businesses on online marketing related topics.
In your role as a Product Marketing Manager you will be the expert in buyer behavior, including how and why customers buy. Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing, you will work closely with other members of the product marketing team, product managers, sales management and staff, and various members of the marketing organization on campaigns and content production.
Attention to detail and quality standards, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities and product features into customer benefits and value propositions is critical. A solid understanding of online marketing trends, practices and tools is also very important.
Key Responsibilities
Product messaging - develop messaging that differentiates our products in the market and articulates the value proposition for customers; also, contribute to product strategy and positioning
Sales enablement - communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and sales trainers ("train the trainer" model), and develop sales tools that support the selling process
Product launch - plan the marketing activities for the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan, often managing multiple overlapping launches
Demand generation - develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive product demand
Campaign management - conceive, initiate and manage marketing campaigns, including identifying content and messaging needs, overseeing execution of campaigns, A/B testing, measuring/monitoring results, and continuously improving/optimizing campaigns
Product marketing content - Produce and/or direct the development of supporting marketing content (landing pages, emails, videos, etc.) and sales collateral (data sheets, presentations, call scripts)
Content marketing - regularly contribute blog articles related to online marketing for small businesses; contribute and/or oversee production of various additional content marketing pieces (eBooks, videos, tutorials, infographics, etc.)
Market intelligence - be the expert on buyer behavior/motivation and buying criteria for your products; and be the expert on the competition and how to effectively beat them
Requirements
5+ years of software marketing experience, SaaS/cloud-computing experience a plus
2+ years of sales and/or customer service experience
Experience with website marketing, SEO, eCommerce is desired
Experience in the hosting and/or domains industry is a plus
Excellent writing skills, including blogging experience
Excellent people/interpersonal skills
Strong presentation skills
Strong PowerPoint & Excel skills
Experience conducting marketing campaign analyses
Personality: organized, detail-oriented, self-starter, creative, analytical, results-oriented
"Can-do" attitude is a must
Occasional travel required
Bachelor's degree require
