As a Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the outbound marketing activities for your products. You will develop go-to-market plans through market research, competitive analysis, customer requirements and business planning and drive cross functional teams to execute product introductions. You'll work with other marketing teams to conceive and develop innovative marketing programs (including Social Media, Thought Leadership, and events) that drive demand, acting as the lead spokesperson for your product line.
Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into business impacting benefits is crucial. In your role, you will be the expert in buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria, matching Aerohive?s core technical differentiation to that criteria, and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channel.
Key Responsibilities
Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates your products in the market
Sales enablement ? communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products
Product launch ? plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
Market intelligence ? be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to crush them
Demand generation ? Work with the marketing team to develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for your products. Act as the primary source for content and message consistency across all content.
Evangelism ? Develop thought leadership plans and execute as the primary spokesperson for your product line.
Requirements
Must have strong (7+ years) of prior experience in product marketing of networking, network security, and/or wireless with at least 3+ years in outbound marketing role
Must demonstrate excellent understanding of IT market trends such as cloud computing, virtualization, mobility, etc.
Must be able to craft memorable content and hard-hitting competitive collateral
Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal; must have crafted product and solution positioning, messaging, collateral including datasheets, technical and business presentations (Samples will be required)
Must have strong market analytical skills to conduct both quantitative and qualitative market research.
Must be willing to travel when needed to conduct customer interviews or participate at trade shows
Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.
Degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other analytical field required; MBA a plus
