To augment our growth, we are looking for a top notch Product Marketing Manager. In this exciting role you will both manage the strategic and tactical product marketing efforts to build and grow our products. You will craft the messaging and positioning for products, conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand and will be responsible for the outbound marketing activities for our products. You will handle market collateral, prepare and process RFPs and RFIs, handle data sheets, identify solution case studies, turn specs into laymen terms and market product to outside users. You will be the technical liaison, responsible for research and analysis on market trends and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channels. Lastly, you will work closely with customers and product management to develop market requirements and drive marketing efforts. Bottom line?.you will know how and what the buying criteria is and will transfer this knowledge to the sales team. This position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Responsibilities
Product Positioning: Develop high impact and differentiated product positioning and messaging. Track top competitors and define winning strategies against these companies. Closely monitor marketplace for competitive moves and identify opportunities for strategic partnership.
Product Launch: Drive the positioning, launch strategy, and overall product segmentation and packaging, coordinating with technical product managers on product release schedule. Develop high-impact sales tools such as white papers, presentations, product demos, as well as training materials covering industry trends, value proposition, and competitive position. Collaborate with corporate marketing on external promotions and PR launch.
Demand Generation: Develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for your products. Create measurable marketing plans that drive market adoption and enable the company to achieve revenue goals. Use both online and offline channels to reach target audiences and generate new business opportunities in collaboration with sales and corporate marketing teams.
Market Intelligence: Be the ultimate champion for your products, educating the market, presenting at industry conferences, briefing analysts, conducting press interviews, and generating momentum internally and externally.
Sales Enablement: Communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products. Work jointly with Sales to identify new opportunities, expand deals and increase lifetime value of customer engagements. Support the sales team through joint calls to key customer accounts. Strategize on account development and support sales efforts to win new customers and grow revenue.
Customer Evangelism: Work with sales team to develop customer success stories and references that can be promoted to prospects, analysts and media outlets. Develop ROI models and help customers understand and measure ROI on product investments.
Requirements
BA/BS required, technical major preferred. MBA is desired.
Minimum of eight years of experience in Product Marketing / Product Management / Pre-sales, preferably in a small to medium sized enterprise software and a SaaS technology company
Demonstrated success in defining and launching winning products
Internet marketing, mobile or business intelligence industry experience
Experience in creating, planning and executing winning go-to-market strategies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: negotiating, persuading, public speaking and listening
Experience in developing, executing and measuring the success of integrated marketing plans and campaigns
Proven success working closely with sales teams to effectively position technical products to win business
Excellent writing and oral communication skills. Ability to tell a clear, compelling story with clear, concise writing and intuitive diagrams
Ability to grasp technical details of new technology products quickly and an ability to translate their meaning and value to non-technical users
Comfortable presenting to groups of colleagues, customers, and partners.
