Product Marketing Specialist Think Through Learning

Think Through Math (www.thinkthroughmath.com), a high-energy Web-based educational software firm, seeks a professional, resourceful, hard-working team player to join us in our main Pittsburgh office as a full-time Product Marketing Specialist. The Product Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing the development of key product messages, collateral materials, marketing programs, lead generation campaigns, and follow-up activities related to Think Through Math program.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills. The Marketing Communications Specialist must be energetic and organized, capable of handling multiple tasks at once while paying close attention to detail, and be able to work in a high-velocity environment. The ability to complete your work with passion, enthusiasm, flexibility and a sense of humor is critical.
This is an entry-level position, ideal for someone two to five years of related experience working in a marketing communications or digital marketing role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Build a level of market and industry expertise related to on-line supplemental education content market, including understanding the competitive landscape, buying personas, key benefits, and industry trends
Develop overarching product messaging that outlines the tangible value proposition of the Think Through Math product suite, with benefits aligned to specific target audience needs, objectives and issues
Regularly research and keep up with industry news and relay that news to the sales force, and other key organization stakeholders
Complete and maintain competitive intelligence and disseminate information to the organization, as appropriate
Manage the development of marketing collateral with targeted messages for various relevant audiences, including price lists, brochures, handouts, and other marketing collateral
Create and execute periodic marketing campaigns that drive increased product sales in identified target regions/markets
Review and edit materials developed by other marketing team members, to ensure that high-quality, relevant marketing content is available to support sales efforts across the U.S.
Manage the development of customer case studies and testimonials, as appropriate, documenting the value proposition of TTM?s product line
Manage the work of outside agencies and individuals on specific promotional projects, as appropriate.
Work collaboratively with other marketing team members to ensure that cross-functional communications enable information-sharing across all team members
Campaign Management/Digital Marketing
Create and/or collaborate on targeted marketing programs that drive increased add-on and renewal sales to current clients through compelling special offers and/or contests aligned to specific buying audiences, business cycles, market and industry developments, and organizational revenue objectives
Create add-on and renewals sales campaigns, in collaboration with marketing and sales management, on at least a monthly basis, designed to promote adoption of additional products or motivate current customers to renew their annual subscription
Develop and execute periodic customer contests to build ?buzz? and ?loyalty?
Become conversant with Internet marketing concepts that are relevant to the position, including search engine optimization techniques, e-mail marketing best practices, landing page design, and other web marketing techniques, and apply best practices from those areas in creating marketing content
Create success metrics for marketing activities and follow-up to ensure that desired results are obtained or that corrective action plans are executed
Participate in developing a documented event strategy to ensure the maximum ROI from each conference or trade show
Other marketing and sales-related projects, as assigned by marketing management
Direct experience in marketing within a technology environment
Background in K-12 or post-secondary education and/or education technology/enterprise software organizations is desirable
Knowledge of marketing automation products, such as Silverpop, Eloqua or Marketo, strongly desired
Knowledge of education funding programs, public sector purchasing processes, and competitive procurement processes is desirable
Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and interpersonal and facilitation skills
Ability to work in a self-directed manner, escalating questions and issues to management when appropriate
Demonstrate good common sense and effective problem-solving skills
Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and oral. Writing samples will be requested
A minimum of 2-5 years in related employment.
A Bachelor?s degree is required, preferably in Communications, Marketing, or relevant area.
Experience with CMS programs for website development & maintenance is highly desirable
Basic knowledge of digital marketing best practices for copywriting, SEO, list management, and related areas is highly desirable
Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, are essential
Skill with graphic programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is desirableProduct Marketing Specialist
