Required Skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Product Owner role is a key element in the Scrum software development implementation at Lumension. The Product Owner works directly with the development organization at a tactical level as the customer and stakeholder proxy for the product.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Product Manager to fully understand the market needs, customer use cases, and priorities for the product
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the product
Act as the team liaison to stakeholders
Develop User Stories and Acceptance Tests for the product backlog, working with the User Experience and QA teams as applicable
Validate use cases against the product
Acts as a fully integrated Sprint team member
Work with the development teams to estimate the product backlog, providing background, guidance, and clarification on user stories as needed
Own and Maintain the product backlog
Conduct Sprint Planning meetings with the development teams
Uses clear goals to communicate the project vision at the beginning of every release and sprint so that the team understands and is equipped to realize it.
Conduct Sprint Review meetings with the development team and stakeholders
Ensure the success of the project by tracking and improving
Accuracy of effort estimates,
Quality of sprint deliverables
Predictability of team velocity and capacity
Accounting for external influences on the team and project
Accurately report on the state of feature implementation and the overall project status to project stakeholders and executives
Review and approve or reject end-of-sprint deliverables
Certified Scrum Product Owner a plus
Required Experience
The ability to communicate with various departments within the organization
The ability to interface professionally with customers
The ability to gain respect as the customer proxy from the development organization
The ability to lead a project involving diverse teams across multiple geographic locations
The ability to articulate market requirements, and the ability to prove their validity to the development organization
The ability to make priority decisions based on multiple sources of information
Proficiency in MS Office, technically inclined
The successful candidate will have:
3+ years? experience in a Business Analyst, Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role
Experience with enterprise software
Expertise using a variety of SmartPhone and Tablet PC devices
Experience with security software desired
