The Product Owner provides direction and coordinates defect-fixing activity for the SIMS Production Support team. The Product Owner plans and coordinates the weekly prioritization meeting, weekly deployments and biweekly maintenance releases.
The Product Owner analyzes incoming issues and minor feature requests and works with other Product Owners to determine the proper resolution to problems. They will fulfill project management responsibilities for the Production Support team.
The Product Owner should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Review incoming defects, maintenance requests and minor feature requests. Add additional info for valid requests to help with resolution and route invalid requests so requestors can provide additional information
Provide guidance on how to resolve defects and maintenance requests
Track and report timely completion of issues
Facilitate weekly prioritization issues meeting and investigate new issues as needed
Manage the biweekly maintenance releases including:
Identifying issues to include in the release
Assigning out issues for work
Confirming testing is complete
Tracking and reporting metrics on each release
Coordinate releases with Release Analyst and QA for weekly promotions and bi-weekly Production deployments:
Scheduling and facilitating promotion planning meetings
Tracking and reporting progress on defect resolution
Coordination of required scripts, database and code changes
Communicating status in preparation and during the promotion
Managing promotions through each environment leading to and including the production environment
Facilitate discussions among departments to ensure changes are meeting/addressing all customers? needs (e.g. Customer Support, Client Delivery, Client Partners, Sales, Finance)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to balance multiple ongoing responsibilities and appropriately communicate issues
Ability to analyze requested changes for impact and provide guidance on resolution
Good presentation skills for communication with internal and external customers
Strong documentation, oral and written communication skills required
Experience with Java-based web applications preferred
Bachelor's degree and a minimum 5 years? experience in technical Project Management preferred.
Agile experience preferred.
Standard office hours and conditions.
Flexibility with work hours: Unscheduled night and weekend work is required on occasion (i.e. application emergencies)
Participation in an on-call rotation (25%)
