Your focus will be on making our products better to have a substantial positive impact on our members.
About the team
The Product Quality team maintains a high level of quality for features we release to Etsy.com and mobile platforms (e.g. iOS, Android). The Product Quality team works with engineering teams to identify usability problems and bugs in functionality during the development cycles.
With this responsibility we manage the consistency of features/products prior to launch and how engineers manage any inconsistencies that are found post launch.
Another goal of the Product Quality team is to have clear communication between our Member Ops team and Engineering team, and prioritize attention to bugs that are having an impact on our members.
Product Development and Engineering at Etsy is organized around the Continuous Deployment methodology. The Product Quality team builds confidence around prominent feature releases through manual, human testing, while relying on automated testing to enable the rapid pace of bug fixes and code deployment.

About the position
Our Product Quality Analyst position supports several teams across the Etsy organization. You will need to be fast paced and able to multitask. You will not only help organize and execute some of our testing, but also serve as a resource of information for various products. For the Product Quality team our end result is giving our members the best experience they can have on Etsy.

Clearly document software defects, both by writing test cases and be demonstrating in person to an engineer.
Agree that all bug trackers suck, but have an opinion about why the one you use is best.
Are pragmatic about the trade offs between zero-defect perfection and shipping software.
Experience with automated testing tools (Selenium, Jenkins, PHPUnit).
Lean on automation tools to repeat common and tedious test plans.
Have worked in teams using Agile-like methodologies.
Have worked directly with Product Managers, Engineers, and heck... you probably even know a few by name!

You are an experienced Etsy community member.
You have experience teaching or training.
You are knowledgeable about Etsy: site policies, do?s and don?ts, know our terms and our community.
Experience testing on mobile platforms / devices.
