About the Job
The usability analyst thrives on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting product and customer data, and turning it into compelling and useful features and functionality. The usability analyst will consult with technical leads, product managers, architects, and user interface designers to conduct customer research, usability studies, competitive analyses, quick prototyping, and wire-framing. The Usability Analyst will also be responsible for summarizing, presenting, and framing customer research initiatives.
This is an end user facing role, and so it is important that the candidate has a confident but friendly demeanor, is outgoing and articulate, and can easily adapt to new situations, people, and environments. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting face-to-face customer studies. We are an end-to-end solutions provider, so you will get to work with hardware, software, cellular networks, and backend systems.
Responsibilities
Design and conduct usability studies to test concepts, validate core assumptions, and develop and refine product requirements.
Visit and interact with real users as part of analysis.
Manage recruiting and screening research participants, and develop and maintain relationships with key research partners.
Participate in multi-disciplinary brainstorming sessions with designers, product managers, engineers, and research managers
Conduct competitive analysis on hardware and software systems, as well as user experience.
Summarize findings and develop concrete recommendations to help drive product decisions.
Develop user flows, wireframes, and user experience specifications based on multi-functional collaboration.
Create and provide fast prototypes to drive quick decisions.
Lead cross functional cancellation review research and feedback across organization.
Basic Qualifications
College graduate with a love for products, people, and user experience.
Genuine curiosity, thoughtful approach, awesome communication.
Great balance between listening and talking.
Master at asking ?why? but capable of walking the fine line between analysis paralysis and just going for it.
Ability to identify and hone in on good ideas.
Ability for quickly learning new skills in order to produce deliverables.
A genuine passion for products combined with an abundance of product common sense.
Desired Qualifications
Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction or other related field.studies.
Experience with wire framing and mockups
Experience conducting usability and market research interview session test plans
Experience doing or coordinating recruiting of research subjects for market research
Experience using with tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Power Point, etc
Experience with multiple device application platforms (J2ME, BREW, Android, iPhone) and system architectures.
