JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary of Functions:
We are seeking a Production Control Operations Manager for our large cell phone repair and reverse logistics center in Ft. Worth.
Essential Functions
Create daily plan based on inventory on hand and assign staffing accordingly
Monitor progress of daily plan, making proper adjustments to staffing. Assign staffing to meet required performance goals
Coordinate activities across all departments to maintain continuous flow of production
Interface with support organizations to ensure production interruptions are resolved in a timely manner
Approve SOP/Quality changes that occur when Assistant General Managers are not present
Monitor and enforce proper staffing for efficient operations. Provide direction in the use of labor and reports to monitor attendance and staffing levels, proportion and/or adjust workload and labor resources to match workflow throughout the day, and monitor labor codes
Communicate up and down, laterally, and across shifts; brief the staff, create plan of work to be performed, target goals for the day, and monitor progress and adjust accordingly, communicate with the supervisors of upstream and downstream processes; assist Supervisor in resolving problems, particularly any/all concerns or anticipated conditions that will impede quality production or efficiency goals; coordinate with the supervisors for previous and following shifts; work in partnership with project management and engineering
Maintain safe working environment, look for safety hazards in the area. Assist Supervisors to take steps to mitigate hazards, report safety violations and concerns to Safety Manger
Supervise Personnel; provide constructive feedback where needed; be alert for training opportunities; talk to and listen to employee?s needs, concerns and suggestions
Assure all equipment is operating properly and configured for the planned work for the assigned area and assure an adequate flow of tools, supplies and other needs to the workstations
Train and know all processes, policies, and procedures; lead by example; enforce all policies and procedures, ensuring disciplinary actions are administered equitably; monitor work execution to assure that only authorized and trained processes are being used and equipment is being used properly
Monitor quality to identify defects as they are being produced so immediate feedback and correction can be applied
Execute all special projects, actions, and continuous improvement initiatives with excellence
Demonstrate continuous improvement over time in all performance aspects
Enforce good housekeeping to keep the area clean and organized
Education and/or Experience Requirements
5 years experience in Supply Chain Management managing Supervisors or related field
Experience with project and resource management
BA/BS degree
Strong analytical skills are a must.
