Sympoz, was founded in May 2010 by an experienced executive team from eBay, Yahoo, and ServiceMagic. The leadership is strong, and supports every employee in building and moving the company forward each day. We learn on the fly, and respond quickly to user feedback and ideas. Job Description:
The production branch of Sympoz - a fast-growing Denver-based online video education startup that helps people follow their passions and learn from renowned experts - seeks an extremely well-organized and versatile video editor to live-switch footage on set and edit core instructional content. Applicant will have a proven track record of learning quickly and adapting to a fast changing work environment. Ability to take direction and run with it. Drive to contribute ideas and collaborate in a group.
Responsibilities
- Setup and operate a live multi-cam switcher for course production
- Editing of courses after photography wraps
- Keep thorough cut notes on set to communicate with other members of post production
- Organize, log and upload all footage & stills to the server at the end of each shoot day
- Work with the crew to facilitate the production of courses
Job Requirements
- Minimum two years editing commercial video projects for broadcast or internet
- Expert in Premiere, Final Cut or equivalent non-linear editing software
- Experience with or eagerness to learn live switching
- Ability to cut efficiently with a keen and meticulous eye for quality
- Familiarity with on-set procedures and production methods
- Comfortable on location indoors, outdoors and in our studio
- Travel (as much as eight days per month)
- Extremely well organized, patient and adaptable
- Well-versed in post-production best practices for video
- Works well in a fast-paced, startup environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience with After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Has motion graphics or VFX experience (keying, rotoscoping, motion tracking, etc.)
- Is proficient in sound editing, mixing and equalization
- Ability to work in a professional office environment
- Has a sense of humor and plays well with others
