Position Description/General Purpose:
This position is part of a team that manages production customer network designs. It is responsible for all changes needed to ensure network stability and evolution of a customer?s solution. Identify and correct customer and global solution, provider or technology issues. Assist in deployments of new customer. Serve as an escalation point for complex customer solution issues.
Production Customer Network Management
Implement and maintain scalable customer network solutions between multiple platforms and protocols.
Manage global configuration projects to stabilize customer solutions.
Develop and maintain specific configuration templates per customers network needs.
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain host and remote network routers.
+ Implement changes in rules sets, configurations, logging and monitoring.
+ Facilitate, maintain, and manage backups of router configurations.
+ Perform automation scripting as necessary.
+ In real-time, assess and make recommendations for resolution and repair of remote or host site failures.
+ Contribute to establishing disciplined, defined processes to deal with unplanned site outages.
Conduct testing of network redundancy, resilience and failover of different elements within a customer?s network to ensure up-time standards are fully achieved.
Evaluate patches, upgrades, and new features of software, as released by Megapath equipment vendors.
Validate equipment and firmware for functionality, performance, and compatibility with deployed solutions.
Verify and approve solutions to support new product offerings.
Facilitate Internal Resolution of identified hardware bugs.
Review and remediate all Security and Compliance related issues identified by industry standard guidelines (PCI DSS/HIPAA/ITIL).
Training and Documentation
Methods and Procedure development for Customer Service and Service Delivery teams.
Train and mentor in advanced troubleshooting procedures.
Develop customer solution support and troubleshooting documentation.
Assist in development of tools to automate the deployment, administration and monitoring of a customer?s network.
Other related duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field
5+ years? experience in hands on networking protocols and solutions
Certified in Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet highly desired but not required
Experience working in a Telco, ISP, or related fields is a must
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage technology related projects
Outstanding troubleshooting skills. Including LAN/WAN skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Ability to deal with stressful environments and understand a complex technical environment
Self motivated and creative problem solver
General knowledge of various access technologies (e.g., ISDN, Cable, DSL, T-1, Frame, DS-3, and OCx circuits)
General knowledge of Dynamic Routing protocols (e.g., RIP, OSPF, BGP)
General knowledge of authentication methods and OSI Model (e.g., IP, ATM, Ethernet, TCP, UDP, PPPoE, L2TP, RADIUS, TACACS)
Extensive knowledge of IP and subnet addressing
Extensive understanding of VPN tunneling technologies (e.g., PPTP, L2TP, and RFC 2401, 2402, 3031, 3032, etc.)
Strong working knowledge and experience with general Internet services (e.g., HTTP, POP, SMTP, etc.)
Constant computer typing and mousing
Near constant sitting at workstation
Use of telephone with or without headset
Will require off hours work
General office environment, cubicle, fast-paced, can be noisy
