We are seeking a Production Manager to be responsible for the successful execution of media production services. Includes management of production personnel, scheduling and customer coordination, production coordination and logistics to ensure the proper equipment, personnel and resources are allocated in support of customer productions. The Production manager oversees all aspects of production, including audio and video production, multi-camera switched event production, lighting, staging, projection, transmissions, venue coordination and crew scheduling. The Production manager will provide television production, streaming media and audiovisual support of media services operations. Qualified candidates must be proficient with a wide range of technologies related to professional audio and video production, streaming media, and audiovisual operations support.
This position, in Yorktel?s Media Services department, reports directly to the Director of Production Management. The Production Manager will provide direction and support including, but not limited to, production assignments, scheduling, budgeting, escalations and professional development. This position may manage, directly or indirectly, in-house production personnel, contractors, partners and suppliers.
The Production manager will have good leadership and interpersonal skills. Must be capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines. The PM must possess excellent written and verbal skills. Must have excellent customer service, problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Must be a detail oriented self starter capable of working independently with very little supervision. The PM must have strong experience in broadcast video production and production management. Must have technical expertise in a wide range of state-of-the-art video/audio equipment. The PM should have a strong understanding of television production fundamentals. Must have familiarity with streaming media and digital media formats and encoding. Skilled in the setup and operation of a wide variety of audiovisual equipment.
This position will have the authority to regularly direct the work of their assigned production team. This position will prioritize work load and delegate appropriate work accordingly to meet production deliverables, schedules and budgets. This position will also have the responsibility and authority to provide input on employee hiring, development, discipline, and performance management, within established Yorktel guidelines, policies and procedures. This position serves in an advisory capacity to research, recommend and request procurement initiatives necessary to achieve operational objectives and client deliverables, in accordance with Yorktel budgets, business plans, and established procurement processes.
Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directly manages field production personnel, providing direction, coaching, and feedback on performance objectives and career development. This position may also indirectly manage contractors, freelancers, partners and suppliers. This position serves as a resource within the department for specific skills, knowledge, and experience surrounding production management, video production, and client interaction/management.
Overall leadership of field production services, equipment, personnel, processes, best practices and quality assurance.
Effective employee on-boarding program to familiarize new team members with York?s Vision, Strategy and responsibilities of their position in order to perform their job with the highest level of operational excellence and customer care.
Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes to enable employees to consistently and correctly perform to desired standards and level of excellence
Quarterly assessment of each individual against the Performance Matrix of values and behaviors established in collaboration with department goals and Human Resources initiatives
Provide strong leadership and clear customer-centric direction for the team on a daily basis.
Responsible for subordinates? timesheet and expense review and approvals, schedule coordination of paid leave, backfill of unscheduled leave
Create employee development plans, provide coaching, address disciplinary, and employee concerns
Internal & External Relationships:
This position regularly collaborates with customer stakeholders and internal team leaders to define and refine production vision, plan, schedule, budget, execution, deliverables, and quality assurance. Open channels of communication are maintained with all parties to ensure continual feedback loops throughout the preproduction, production and post production phases of the engagement. The position will:
proactively monitor appropriate communications channels
promptly respond to requests from customers, colleagues and other stakeholders
delegate or escalate where necessary but retain ownership to follow-up and ensure follow-through
provide management reports, customer reports, input on operations metrics and SLA compliance
Role & Responsibilities:
Manage media services personnel, contractors, and suppliers
Production coordination of large scale, high profile television broadcasts and corporate events
Produce video programs from concept to completion, managing creative development, preproduction, production, post production, and delivery
Field ENG/EFP, including camera operation, lighting and field audio.
Management of multi-camera switched shoots and studio productions
Event management and logistics, to include audio and video production, lighting, staging, projection and transmissions
Crew and equipment resource scheduling
Streaming media encoding, digital video editing and digital asset management
Nonlinear video editing
DVD authoring and duplication
Write and update standard operating procedures, processes, lessons learned and best practices.
Research state-of-the-art equipment, emerging technologies and industry trends
Advise and recommend equipment purchases to ensure York Telecom stays on the leading edge
Ensure that quality expectations are achieved, standard operating procedures are followed, and production costs are within budget.
Management reporting, job cost analysis, and resource utilization analysis
Knowledge of and adherence to Yorktel policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Familiarity with streaming media and digital media formats and encoding
Experience switching multi-camera or multi-source video programs
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent walking, standing, and sitting
May require stooping and crouching
Ability to successfully pass a mandatory Federal background check
Domestic and international travel may be required
Evening or weekend hours may be required
