Production Operations Engineer Job Description
Retail Solutions is seeking a full time employee to ensure all retailer data streams are supported and loaded into the system in a quality and scalable manner. Responsibilities will include ongoing support of daily/weekly data loads; implementing SQL procedures to automate data loads; documenting backend requirements for enhancing current data load tools and providing ongoing backend support of RSi services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Review data files from retailers to identify, document and drive resolution to any issues, nuances or customized handling
Maintain documentation data file content, format and transfer details
Develop SQL procedures to automate ongoing daily routines
Document field definitions and perform initial relationship mapping between data elements and standard RSi metric and attributes
Communicate and coordinate effectively with all stakeholders: the retailer, RSi Customer Operations, RSi Product Management and RSi Engineering.
Establish streamlined process for ongoing maintenance including backend tool product enhancements
Skills and Experience Required:
University Degree
Working knowledge of relational databases with 2+ years? experience working in either Microsoft SQL environment or an Oracle environment
3+ years of relevant work experience is also preferred
Experience working with retail data is ideal, but not expected
Knowledge of Sterling Commerce, Gentran, AS2, FTP/SFTP preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc?)
Excellent creative problem solving skills
Must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize tasks
Must be customer service oriented with strong follow up skills
Strong oral and written communication skills in English are required; additional language skills are preferred
