Production Specialist - iPSC Manufacture Cellular Dynamics International

To derive and manufacture iPSC lines.
Skills and responsibilities:
Understand basic laboratory concepts and be able to perform basic lab techniques, including aseptic technique for cell culture, medium preparation.
Follow manufacturing/quality control protocols reproducibly within a specified timeframe.
Apply good documentation practices when recording data and completing records.
Follow production schedules to assure on-time delivery of finished product.
Effectively communicate day-to-day activities within Production department.
Assist in developing and maintaining procedures and work instructions including cell culture automation.
Provide data or information to others in work group, and assist in implementation activities.
Maintain laboratory standards (temperature status, inventory, routine maintenance)
Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to CDI business.
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
B.S. degree in a specific discipline (i.e. Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry) or related technical field.
Be familiar with basic principles of documentation using either laboratory notebook or batch record.
1-2 year?s experience of reagent preparation for cell culture and basic maintenance of cell lines.
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Windows and data management systems.
Able to work in laboratory hood for extended periods of time.
Able to work in shifts.
Able to work with hazardous materials (i.e. chemicals, electrical equipment, human tissue) without endangering oneself or others.
Able to work at computer for extended periods of time.
Able to wear standard laboratory PPE.
Able to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
