Description
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the hands-on supervision of the Manufacturing Group. This position requires the individual to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced manufacturing environment.
The candidate must be enthusiastic, positive, and have strong communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate and prioritize production scheduling based on the work order demand.
Tracking the production runs through entire process.
Monitor the inventory levels to avoid back orders.
Ensure manufacturing staff is cross trained on all products.
Supervise and motivate production personnel.
Review manufacturing documentation for each production lot for accuracy.
Oversee the generation of work orders with the Production Coordinator in accordance with the desired production schedule.
Ensure raw material components and supply inventory levels are accurate for production demands (cycle counts).
Coordinate services provided by outside vendors (e.g. Sterilization, Clean room certifications, etc.).
Participate in all audits (ISO, FDA and Internal).
Provide status updates routinely to senior management.
Perform analysis and recommend process improvements as necessary.
Responsible for the hiring and training of new employees.
Works with Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering when establishing new manufacturing procedures. Initiate modification to enhance existing manufacturing procedures based on experience.
Devise processes/procedures to reduce the possibility of receiving product non-conformances.
Reduce scrap levels.
Interface with Quality Control, Product Development and various Operational groups.
Request system enhancements and reporting that will benefit the manufacturing process.
Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
Manage department spending/budgets.
Perform other ad-hoc requests.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisor role preferably in a medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Must have working knowledge of GMP, SOPs, batch records, and specification documents.
Must have cleanroom manufacturing knowledge.
Ability to work independently.
Bachelor?s degree preferred
Must be able to be a hands-on supervisor who is willing to perform in a production technician role as needed.
Should possess strong organizational skills with the ability to keep detailed manufacturing records.
Should be able to set priorities, and meet manufacturing deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and previous Manufacturing system experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
