Production Supervisor - iPSC Derivation Cellular Dynamics International

To derive and manufacture large numbers of iPSC lines. To supervise and conduct in-process quality control testing of those lines
Skills and responsibilities:
In depth understanding of laboratory concepts including cell biology and molecular biology.
Able to perform advanced lab techniques following manufacturing/quality control protocols reproducibly within a specified timeframe when needed including cell culture.
Apply good documentation practices when recording data and completing records.
Supervise and train people on related manufacturing processes.
Follow production schedules to assure on-time delivery of finished product.
Effectively communicate day-to-day activities within Production department.
Assist in developing and maintaining procedures and work instructions, including cell culture automation and inventory control systems.
Provide data or information to others in work group, and assist in implementation activities.
Maintain laboratory standards (temperature status, inventory, routine maintenance).
Assist in projects as needed, and lead projects as determined by manufacturing management.
Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to CDI business.
B.S. degree in a specific discipline (i.e. Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry) or related technical field.
Must have at least four years of experience preparing materials for cell culture and performing routine cell culture maintenance.
At least two years of supervisory experience.
Experience in iPS and/or hES cell culture preparation and maintenance desired
Cell banking experience.
Advanced computer skills, familiarity with LIM system a plus.
Able to work in laboratory hood for extended periods of time.
Able to work shifts.
Able to work with hazardous materials (i.e. chemicals, electrical equipment, biological materials) without endangering oneself or others.
Able to work at computer for extended periods of time.
Able to wear standard laboratory PPE.
Able to occasionally lift 50 pounds.
