Production Supervisor Ebrary
Description
SUMMARY:
Manages all aspects of file processing and end to end content management. Acts as technical liaison to engineering team for content requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. You are responsible for supervising the daily operations required to move incoming content from the point of delivery to the ebrary database. These tasks include:
A. Receiving incoming files (typically via FTP) and accurately logging content projects into the content tracking system;
B. Logging and intake of publisher deliverables;
C. Evaluating PDF files to ensure they are ebrary compliant;
D. Performing file repairs and enhancements;
E. Record keeping and tracking of file results;
F. Providing feedback on file evaluations to content support managers;
2. Submission system: You are responsible for controlling operations of the ebrary submission system, which includes uploading PDFs and metadata to the system; monitoring and managing the imagers and Flembots. You will participate in testing and implementing code updates; identifying and requesting bug fixes; and coordinating upgrades and service with the IS and engineering departments.
3. Production technology: You are responsible for staying abreast of industry developments and integrating new content technologies into the production workflow. (Example: updated bookmarking or validation tools). You are responsible for developing requirements for internal tool and workflow develop to maintain efficient operations.
4. Supervise production staff: You are responsible for supervising any production hires necessary to the department for PDF processing. Your supervisory duties include:
A. Documenting task procedures and training production staff;
B. Supervising production staff in daily work;
C. Ensuring production staff complies with company policies and procedures;
D. Monitoring production staff performance against established metrics.
5. Content quality: You are responsible for ensuring that the content submitted to the ebrary database is compliant with ebrarys Submission Guidelines.
6. Pre-submission data management and reporting: You are responsible for maintaining a pre-submission record of titles received from each content provider, along with a record of the compliant/non compliant state of each title received and the current status of pre-submitted titles and other data points as required. From these records, you are responsible for producing a weekly content report reflecting the number of titles received from each content provider, the type of content received and the current status of the received files. You may be required to produce other reports as necessary.
7. Follow established department procedures for content processing, including methods for file enhancements, processing partner content and post-production quality assurance.
8. Record keeping: Content processing requires a large amount of record keeping that must be performed accurately and in a timely manner. Types of recordkeeping include logging incoming projects, recording validation results, documenting file repairs and enhancements, notifying appropriate parties of validation outcome, and creating other documentation to support ebrarys content policies.

Preferred: Content Management Systems,workflow systems, Excel, Filemaker
