Production Support Analyst / Escalation Engineer - San Diego, CA.
Results Oriented: As a member of our Engineering Operations team, you will contribute to the holistic effort of delivering high quality software on time and on budget.
Hands-On Testing: Analyze and independently identify complex problems within our software, based on customer reported inquiries. You will be responsible for performing hands-on new feature and function testing to ensure product functionality is working according to specifications; this will happen on tight timelines while also writing test cases and preparing our overseas team for hand-off tasks.
Special Projects: Depending on your specific skills, talents and areas of interest, we also require that each of our team members become a subject matter expert in an area aligned with the company?s strategic objectives and take on special projects to improve process, testing methods or cross-training and knowledge transfer.
Thorough knowledge of iOS, Mac OS X and Windows operating systems
Comfortable with Unix and shell scripting
Experience with media or networking engineering or QA
Previous programming or tools development experience a plus
Working with customers to troubleshoot issues in production environments. This includes server and client issues analysis.
Experience, working in a multi-platform, multi-release, distributed development environment.
Have a strong understanding of QA process and test case management in order to provide feedback and fortify validation test plans.
Well versed in testing highly scalable enterprise client-server software; a huge plus if you have experience testing on mobile device platforms including iPhone, Android, Windows Phone devices.
Experience and ability to read code in C, C++, Objective C.
Proficient in White-Box and Black-Box testing techniques
Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
Comprehensive analysis of technical issues, such as:
? System performance analysis
? Design for Testability
? Root-cause analysis of issues regardless of source (hardware, system, or software)
? Be able to perform log analysis to get root cause of customer issues
Advanced Experience with Defect Tracking Tools like JIRA, Aptest, Rally etc.
Experience troubleshooting and handling Customer Escalation will be a plus.
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related sciences at an accredited college or university
Microsoft certification or expertise on Windows Server & Exchange as well as knowledge of the enterprise email space is a big plus.
Should have a working knowledge of mail/networking server technologies (TCP/IP, POP3, IMAP, MAPI, EWS, MS-Exchange, Domino, Sun).
Experience with designing and developing test automation tools & frameworks.
Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle).
Knowledge of revision control software (ex. Perforce, SVN, etc) and development lifecycle a plus.
Knowledge of network technologies (proxy servers, load balancers, HTTP, TCP/IP, UDP) a plus.
Bachelor degree of Computer Science or equivalent
