Boardvantage is looking for an experienced Professional Services Consultant to join the Professional Services team. The Professional Services Consultant will be responsible for the development, installation, and support of the BoardVantage On-Premise solution. This will include travel to customer sites for installations; responding to 3rd level support requests; software installation preparation; testing, and product development; interaction with and support of On-Premise customers. This position reports to the Director of Professional Services.Responsibilities:
Lead the installation, configuration, and upgrades of BoardVantage On-Premise solution
Assist in day-to-day meetings with customers as required
Be part of a 24-7 technical support team as needed
Improve On-Premise build processes
Create and maintain On-Premise documentation
Keep track of customer installation details, such as, software versions and machine names
Package software and design distribution methods
Provide technical consultations and presentations as needed
Create and lead configuration management processes
Perform post-implementation 3rd level support
Provide on call support as required
Required Skills/Experience:
Two or more years of experience performing software integration and writing shell scripts
Two or more years of experience working with Linux, and preferably RedHat/CentOS
Experience in database administration, SQL, and preferably MySQL
Some exposure to Java/J2EE applications which include: writing, fixing, or supporting them
Knowledge of Apache web server and JBoss application server
Initiative, and the ability to research problems independently
Ability to locate, modify, and rebuild various Linux software components (rpms)
Emphasis on sharing of knowledge through good communications, peer training, and written documentation
Strong interpersonal skills
Positive customer service and team attitude (helping others when required)
Focused on quality
Committed to continual improvement
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
