Narus is looking for a highly capable and versatile Professional Services Consultant / Solution architect to join our worldwide Professional Services Organization. This position will be located in the Middle East Region and focused on serving our customer and sales team there. As our Professional Services Consultant/ Solution Architect you will be the critical bridge between Narus and the customer by using your engineering skills to specify, design, estimate and implement product features, customizations, and integrations based on the customer intended use. Your deep knowledge of Linux, networking and scripting is not only paramount to providing solutions for our customers, but it will prove critical in working with the other organizations within Narus. You must be able and willing to travel throughout the region; as well as to other areas (Asia, Europe) if necessary.Educational Background
BA / BS, equivalent or relevant industry experience.
Required Skills and Experience
A minimum of 5 years previous Professional Service Engineering experience and proven track record in delivering high quality solutions for customer;
Experience in the design and implementation of complex telecommunications solutions
Great Customer facing skills, both onsite and remotely, with experience communicating across various levels of a customer organization
Travel up to 75% of the time
Experience in providing solution to "Carrier Grade" Customers with mission critical environments.
Ability to handle a wide variety of sometimes demanding and complex issues.
Able to manage workload and handle rapidly changing priorities effectively, both for self and small delivery teams.
Must work constructively and efficiently with other internal organizations.
Excellent analysis, troubleshooting and debugging skills, in particular Linux and networking.
Articulate communicator: Must have excellent written and verbal English communication skills; desired to have Arabic speaking and writing skills
Experience creating detailed Statement of Work, Solution Architecture and Test plan documents.
Detailed working knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux, especially system administration, networking, kernel modules and troubleshooting
Knowledge of networks and technologies, e.g. media types, link speeds, routing protocols etc.
A thorough understanding of, and experience in the diagnostics ofIP networks and protocols, for example IP, TCP, UDP, SMTP, HTML, and other common internet protocols, especially VoIP protocols (H323, SIP etc)
Scripting languages such as UNIX Shell and Perl
Familiarity with network analysis tools such as Ethereal/Wireshark, tcpdump and the ability to analyze complex packet traces.
Additional skills and experience considered a bonus
Oracle, DB2, MS/SQL and MySQL Administration
C / C++ Programming
Additional Foreign languages
Understanding of anomalous network traffic, e.g. Worms, DoS attacks etc.
Knowledge of mobile voice/data networks, GSM, 3G/UMTS, etc.
