The PS Development Manager will provide leadership in custom development of software development applications. The position will lead the design, development and support of custom applications and 3rd party product integrations. Additionally, this position is charged with leading 3rd tier support for custom applications.Responsibilities
Post Sales (90%)
Provides leadership role in the development and support of custom applications
Provides oversight and guidance to their team for the effective and timely development of technology solutions
Schedules and balance team activities to meet deadlines for deliverables and meetings
Provides periodic reviews of team member performance using both formal and informal mechanisms
Mentors team members in best practices and skills development
Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced
Develops, tests, documents, and implements high quality applications on time that perform according to specifications and requirements documents
Analyzes performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies
Leads the development and enforcement of development standards that allows for the maintainability of code in a manner that supports team development
Hires/terminates direct reports, as well as approve staff reporting to the direct reports; included in this responsibility is the discipline, promotion, salary adjustment, etc., of staff
Executes the development and/or configuration of software applications to resolve issues and plan for future growth
Applies best practices including change management, effective error handling and performance instrumentation
Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrates respect for others
Provide support for custom project escalations. This may require some weekend and late hour work.
Pre-Sales (10%)
Writes Statement of Work documents for requirements provided by Pre-Sales teams
Occasional Travel may be required
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
5+ years of experience developing enterprise-wide software solutions (preferably in Email Services)
5+ years of experience with web technologies (HTML, SOAP, XML, Ajax), Java, Ruby, SQL, Postgres or other leading databases
2+ years of experience leading the development and support of custom applications
Track record of successful, solution-based implementations
Skills
Ability to work with and through people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans
Strong interpersonal skills along with excellent oral and written communication abilities
Detail oriented, organized, thorough and respect for quality control
Executes the development and/or configuration of software applications to resolve issues and plans for future growth
Excellent verbal and written communication skills desired
