Professional Services Engineer Adaptive Computing
Job Summary. All Professional Services engineers perform the following functions to one degree or another. However, most have one or two areas where they focus their efforts. This position will work with the Adaptive sales team and report to Adaptive Computing north America Manager of Professional Services.Solution Scoping and Architecting. Work with customers to determine customer needs and current situation. Develop proposed solutions supported by Adaptive Computing tools. Estimate level of effort and time lines for proposed solutions. Effectively present solutions to customers and other co-workers.
Implementation and Integration. Follow pre-architected statement of work to implement solutions. Ability to work against set deadlines. Implement solutions with a closed environment for testing and development. Working closely with the customer, implement solutions in the field that may include integration with third-party and custom software solutions.
Software Development. Develop software integration solutions.
Customer Interaction. Interact with customers on the phone in pre-sale, demo, and support roles. As required, work on site directly with customers to build and deploy solutions (up to 50% of the time).
Training. Train small and medium groups in the use of software and other technologies.
Experience
Bachelor?s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field
Experience in Linux scripting, systems design, software design theory, networking, and presenting customer solutions.
Experience as on onsite consultant.
Additional experience will be considered a plus

Virtualization technology experience
Linux scripting
Presentation
Systems design
Software design theory

Linux fluency
Desirable Abilities
HPC programming or administration experience
Data center administration
Perl programming language
Web software development
Microsoft development experience
C programming language
Familiarity with gdb, valgrind, autoconf, make, and other Linux development tools
Good grasp of multi-platform portability issues and concerns
Linux server administration experience
Experience in open source community projects
