Description
The Program Manager, will be responsible to manage all facets of creating and implementing the educational mission for designated business segments. The PM will work closely with the Director, Surgeon Education or equivalent, the SR-VP Corporate Development, and applicable Expert Groups in these areas to establish the plans, tools and programs to promote the safe and effective use of our products in this space. The PM is expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with all existing and new faculty members in the appropriate clinical pathology spaces, identifying new educational opportunities, and driving continuous improvement of existing programs. This individual will play a key strategic role in ensuring that the overall educational mission in these areas is executed to the highest level, with the utmost professionalism, managing multiple inputs in the process.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Director or equivalent, implement the Strategic Education Plan as it pertains to this segment.
Learn the Globus product line, in-depth with regard to the areas of focus of this position.
Generate content for responsible programs in collaboration with surgeon faculty from Expert Groups, and support from Product Development and other stakeholders to include didactic lectures, and presentations.
Maintain active and frequent communication with all respective faculty members in the designated areas.
Plan and establish educational program calendar; course type, frequency, location and faculty both chair and support.
In collaboration with Expert Group members and product development, create relevant hands on exercises and define and obtain the necessary educational tools to implement.
Create content for appropriate marketing materials and approaches utilizing MERC resources to generate and implement.
Work with Director of Surgeon Education or equivalent to effectively market educational programs to both internal and external audiences.
Drive the content and oversee preparation of all collateral educational program support material; presentations, etc. with surgeon and product development input.
Work closely with surgeon faculty on a pro-active basis to ensure clear understanding of agenda, responsibilities and coordinate any requires support information.
Work with compliance/regulatory to ensure that all materials presented by or provide to faculty educators are within appropriate regulatory guidelines and requirements.
Work closely with corporate support functions to carry out educational plans.
Support budget generation for programs and materials required to support planned initiatives.
Actively help support all educational programs to include set up and break down to ensure all bases are covered.
Ensure all programs are compliant according to FDA regulations and the AdvaMed Code of Ethics.
Assist other Program Managers within the team as needed.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in executing medical educational programs, preferably in the medical device field, ideally in spine or orthopedics.
2. Strong interpersonal and communications skills, ability to personally and professionally interface with leading surgeon educators.
3. Demonstrated ability in project management, ability to manage multiple functional support groups and competing resources.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Multi-tasking abilities required for successful job completion.
5. Well organized, detail oriented.
6. A strong team player capable of working with others in a deadline dictated environment.
7. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement long range strategic programs.
8. BS degree in education or science fields preferred
9. Ability and willingness to travel and work weekends. This position will require approximately 25% of travel.
10. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
11. Excellent oral and written communications skills.
