GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The HIPAA 5010/ICD-10 Program Manager is responsible for gathering and documenting system and business requirements, and working with internal and external resources to ensure that all MPV product programs are in compliance with the HIPAA 5010 and ICD-10 regulatory mandate, and associated milestones.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for ICD-10 and HIPAA 5010 engagement planning and execution, risk management, and conflict avoidance.
Continuously track emerging standards, and trading partner & PMS vendor rollout and testing plans.
Collaborate with all MPV functional areas to define requirements and deliverables and develop solutions that will ensure compliance.
Work closely with product and program managers to ensure proper transition of functional requirements and track status against established release timelines.
Communicate all aspects of program status and risks including identification and resolution/escalation of issues threatening program deliverables, including periodic reporting to MPVs Executive Team.
Ensure quality of execution of all aspects of product development programs and business process improvement projects.
Responsible for remaining knowledgeable on all changes in the information technology and healthcare fields which could have an impact on the business.
Assist in the creation of external communication plans and messaging, and periodically interface with clients or other stakeholders as to MPVs HIPAA 5010/ICD-10 readiness plans.
Assist MPVs Compliance Officer with a variety of HIPAA related compliance initiatives.
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree or greater in related field, or equivalent education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years experience in health care operations and/or revenue cycle consulting.
Strong domain experience across a broad range of Practice Management Systems.
Knowledge of HIPAA 4010 and 5010 transactions.
Working knowledge with HIPAA EDI transactions.
Strong understanding of revenue cycle, with an in-depth knowledge of medical claims.
SKILLS:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of training users in complex topics, making presentations and interacting positively with upper management. Independent problem solving and self-direction are critical.
Understanding and experience with workflow and business process analysis.
Works well in a team oriented structure to achieve goals.
Considerable planning is required, and flexibility of methods required to meet program goals is essential.
Understanding interdepartmental functions is essential to ensure that program schedules and objectives are met.
Requires both administrative and technical knowledge and frequent interaction with employees and clients.
Definition of resources and schedule for project/program implementation.
Development of strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
Design and maintenance of technical, process, and project documentation.
ABILITIES:
Ability to organize and manage detailed processes.
Ability to communicate, written and verbal, at multiple levels: client, executive, and across all MPV associates
Ability to work effectively with other departments and management at MPV and clients.
Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
Ability to learn, understand and use the MPV product application suites.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal busy office environment.
Occasional evening or weekend work.
