Job Category: Software Engineering: Program Management
Location: San Francisco, CA, US
Job ID: 811285-94072
Division: Microsoft Office Division
Yammer is bringing the social networking revolution to the enterprise, including changing how enterprise software is discovered and chosen. Enterprise software companies traditionally subscribe to 'buy before you try,' methodology, where enterprises purchase, install, train and roll-out software after only seeing a 'demo.' Yammer distributes like consumer applications, with users discovering and trying Yammer before their employer has to commit a dime. We believe most if not all enterprise software will be distributed this way in the future as well.
This viral distribution model is a reason why Yammer leads the space, but the product also has many groundbreaking features. In addition to microblogging, we've also added Communities (to connect with partners in other networks), Direct Messages, Groups, and access via the web, desktop app, Sharepoint, iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile devices. But we're just getting started. We're building an Application Platform to allow third-party developers to build business applications. We're revamping our knowledge base and search functionality to improve the way people in big companies find and access information. And we're working on lots of other cool projects, but they're Top Secret so you have to come in to learn about them.

Work with product/engineering teams to determine product strategy
