Program Manager, Medical Education - Global Surgeon Relations K2M
Supports the Director Medical Education in implementing and evaluating educational programs of the division. Oversees and manages the logistical and administrative support for multiple, complex educational programs targeting Surgeons, OR Staff, and HealthCare Industry Representatives (HCIR). This person will often work independently in the field: managing educational initiatives and programs including but not limited to courses, programs in surgery, cadaver workshops, symposia and grand rounds. Global responsibilities. Travel up to 70% including weekends.
Working closely with the Director, the Program Manager will be responsible for prioritizing and strategically implementing multiple, complex educational events and programs.
Manage global educational programs (surgeon, hospital staff, cadaver workshop, HCIR)
Interfact regularly with internal corporate divisions as required including product management team, legal & compliance, regulatory, R&D, finance, and corporate events.
Provide product, clinical, and surgical technique input for curriculum development and updating for HCIR trainings:
Demonstrate proficiency in project management, budget planning, and analysis of return on investment
Demonstrate proficiency in contracting with vendors, negotiating pricing, tracking program expenditures, and data analysis for return on investment and budget forecasting
Responsible for overseeing the development and updating content of Med Education programs on extranet
Demonstrate proficiency in leading training for new sales reps upon hire and at regularly scheduled HCIR training program.
Conduct in-depth analysis of industry educational programs and courses for surgeons
Provide regular reports to sales management teams on effectivity of trainings.
Travel to K2M educational programs, 3rd party workshops, and to major spine society meetings.
Perform all other related duties as required by the Medical Education Group
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University or equivalent; plus minimum of 5 years experience in training or educational positions or experience in medical device related field. Knowledge of spinal anatomy, pathology, biomechanics. Minimum of 2 years spine medical device industry experience including working with cadaveric specimen. Experience with working outside the US and demonstrated ability to adjust to cultural mores as required.
Proficient in use of software and technology to develop and to present educational programs.
Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports including budget projections and progress reports.
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Knowledge of conference facilities, technology, and meeting equipment including Audience Response System..
