The RB5 program manager coordinates all activities of the RB4 to RB5 projects, from readiness assessment and planning, to completion of implementation. The program manager also may have responsibility for managing aspects of maintenance and ongoing improvement.
Essential Job Functions:
Aid in educating the organization about the RB4 to RB5 implementation, and help assess readiness. Where organizational issues, computer skills, or general knowledge about RB5 need improvement, work with the organization to correct issues, build skills, and acquire improved understanding.
Conduct workflow and process mapping analysis to identify potential functions that are impacted by the implementation.
Conduct an inventory of any existing information systems to ensure they can connect with RB5 or develop a plan for connection.
Bring all applicable areas together to develop a governance committee and work groups to identify work that needs to be done and manage implementation work.
Trace the flow of processes that will be impacted by the implementation to understand how they are currently performed and what changes need to be made.
Measure the volume and/or time it takes to perform these changes, and incorporate into implementation plan.
Manage the implementation changes to ensure they are according to schedule and pull in stakeholders to help make decisions.
Work with Clients to help assess readiness, implementation plan, and client conversion schedule.
Executive on the implementation plan for conversion, process improvement, installation, data conversion, system build, testing, training, and other aspects of the RB5 implementation.
Work with Project sponsor to develop a budge and resources for implementation and conversion.
Oversee the tasks, timelines, and resources necessary to implement RB5, ensuring that the project stays on time and on budget.
Maintain an issues resolution log, escalating issues as appropriate.
Lead the internal implementation team.
Coordinate all vendor implementation activities.
Routinely monitor adoption and use of RB5 and take/recommend corrective action as necessary.
Apply updates as applicable, evaluate and recommend upgrades and enhancements, and work with users to develop reports and other uses of RB5 data.
Essential Job Requirements:
Familiarity with health care delivery in general, and preferably experience in health care technology.
Software implementation or other equivalent project management experience.
Educational background in health informatics or other equivalent background
General understanding of computers and appreciation for information systems theory and design.
Analytical skills to identify problems and offer solutions.
Political and people skills to effectively manage change.
Business acumen and insight into clinical processes.
