The Company?s Program Manager, Product Development will report to the Senior Vice President of Operations and will be based at the Singulex corporate headquarters, in Alameda, California (the greater San Francisco Bay Area). S/he will be responsible for the planning, tracking and execution of the R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Marketing and Commercialization activities for the company's in vitro diagnostic instrument development initiative.
Responsible for the planning, tracking and execution of the R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Marketing and Commercialization activities for the diagnostic initiative.
Develop and manage project timelines to track internal and external progress.
Track progress of key project milestones and activities, and implement corrective action as necessary.
Identify potential project risks and develop contingency plans.
Managing external development partners for the instrument, software and consumable designs in collaboration with R&D team.
Provide monthly status updates to the Executive team
Take accountability for and ownership of the project plan. Regularly update the plan to ensure current information is always available.
Ensure that necessary decisions are reached in a timely fashion and based on the clear business goal of the project.
Regularly perform cost-exception analyses, identifying factors driving changes in forecast, and implement corrective action as necessary.
Assist team members to develop detailed activity plans consistent with the key project milestones.
Other duties as assigned by management.
BS Chemistry, Engineering, Biological / Life Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
7-10 years project / program management experience in the medical device industry with emphasis in leading complex instrument development projects.
Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
Good understanding of QSR and ISO regulatory requirements for In-Vitro Diagnostic products and Good Lab Practice.
Excellent communication skills, ability to understand and communicate technical scientific information to a wide range of audiences.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and coordinating efforts of external partners or collaborators with in-house teams.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and MSWord programs is essential.
Team player with confidence, unquestioned character, and absolute integrity.
Ability to thrive and flourish in an entrepreneurial early stage company environment that requires ?hands-on? implementation, optimal use of limited resources and an ability to work closely with others in a small team setting.
