Program Manager, Product Group
About the role:
RetailMeNot, Inc. is seeking an experienced Program Manager who will be responsible for operation and refinement of product processes, support the management team in planning and roadmap activities, and to create a seamless collaboration environment for Product, Engineering and business stakeholders.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Product Management, the Program Manager, Product Group will support the project roadmap delivery and management process for the Product Management team.
Responsibilities & Project Work:
Facilitate execution of the SVP's key priorities across all areas of product management, ranging from active monitoring to leading specific initiatives in partnership with internal stakeholders
Collaborate with peer Product Managers to ensure that product lifecycle processes are being followed, and that product initiatives move quickly through lifecycle stages while meeting defined exit criteria and stakeholder acceptance.
Manage the preparation process for Quarterly Business Reviews, Roadmap Planning and Board of Directors meetings. This includes agenda tracking, creating content for the SVP, interfacing with other contributors, synthesizing meeting discussion to actionable next steps, and follow-up
Execute individual, ad hoc projects for SVP on a wide-range of business topics, generally related to technology and tools exploration, vendor management, quantitative analysis and KPI tracking
Drive specific initiatives for SVP and/or the management team
Partner with HR and Financial Planning teams to execute long-term and annual planning on an on-going basis
Ownership of RetailMeNot, Inc.'s product process -- work across Product Management, internal stakeholders and Engineering to coordinate Product releases to a defined release schedule.
Track and manage complex dependencies across multiple, parallel product development teams, and identify areas of delivery risk.
Develop and operate processes and tools for managing the movement of product initiatives through the lifecycle, and managing to workback milestones for each product release.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, account management, and support functions to ensure broad adoption and understanding of product lifecycle processes and associated roles and responsibilities.
Operate product opportunity analysis / intake processes, ensuring that RetailMeNot, Inc. is getting maximum value from its R&D investments.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in program or release management, in a product management, software delivery or technical consulting environment
Ideal candidates will come from challenging operating environments with proven track record of addressing growth and change management
Ability to disaggregate complex content into clear understanding of the situation, issues/drivers, and actionable next steps
Problem solver with excellent quantitative/qualitative analytical capabilities
Ability to work in unstructured environments with little supervision
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and think both critically and strategically
Able to develop rapport with all levels of the organization and lead through influence
Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with technical team members
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills, active listening, presentation and writing skills
Ability to adapt, be flexible, and work well in a cross-functional, matrix management environment
Excellent time management and organizing skills including ability to prioritize tasks efficiently with high level of attention to detail
Ability to drive clarity of purpose and goals for product roadmap and deployment planning
Ability to work under tight deadlines while coordinating several projects at a time and responding to changing business and technical conditions
Courageous and assertive, shows determination to remove impediments to success, at all levels of the organization
Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company
MBA or MIS degree preferred
Power user of Microsoft Office suite, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
Experience with configuring and using MS Sharepoint and Atlassian JIRA
Demonstrated ability to lead project teams
Broad-based set of functional business experience, spanning key operating areas
Experience working in an Agile delivery organization and familiarity with Agile principles/practices
Software project deployment experience preferred
