The Role:
Here at Blurb we?re serious about meeting our product launch commitments and we depend on the skill and passion of Program Management to make it happen. The Program Manager will be responsible for planning and managing successful releases of Blurb?s creation tools for printed books and eBooks using a scrum model of product development with regular high frequency product releases. A successful Program Manager at Blurb is expected to work closely with technical leads to manage delivery of component products while simultaneously coordinating successful launches of large-scale product initiatives. Program Management at Blurb is a Technology team role that partners closely with Product Management and works effectively with all functional areas within the company.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain cross-functional launch plans with explicit release criteria, managing for scope and resource constraints. Coordinate activities and interaction points with print operations, development, quality engineering, marketing and supply partners.
Serve as scrum master for component products- lead sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives.
Track and report on project milestones, project dependencies, task completion and all other related deliverables.
Work with developers, QA, product management, and others as needed to proactively identify potential internal and external conflicts; mitigate risk and adhere to launch schedule commitments.
Drive continuous process improvement in the product planning, development, and launch pipeline.
Requirements:
At least 5 years of relevant program management experience, including experience with simultaneous management of multiple product teams.
Large-scale commercial experience using agile techniques for delivering product.
Effective communication and team facilitation skills are an absolute requirement for this role.
Strong preference for candidates who are certified as Scrum Masters and/or Project Management Professionals (PMP).
Demonstrated success in new product introductions, preferably with high-quality consumer services and applications.
Demonstrated success in creation of systems, processes and documentation for project management of product introductions, from implementation through launch.
Proven ability to analyze and organize inputs and outputs from internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate the results.
