About the Job
The following is a representative description of the position?s role and responsibilities. Reflecting the flexible nature of our work, Nexant will adjust this description as necessary to meet operating and strategic needs of its business.
We are seeking a Program Representative I to support the Commercial Energy Efficiency Program Implementation team in our Salt Lake City, UT office. This position will be responsible to support lighting contractors, installers and other trade allies through utility incentive processes in a five state territory (Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, California and Washington). Some travel may be required. The Program Representative I will be responsible to recruit trade allies, provide training, deliver application support, and report regularly on pipeline and savings targets. You will consistently work with trade allies, individually and in group settings to maximize their participation in incentive programs. The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience in the lighting or electrical industry. Experience in non-lighting commercial building technologies, sales, and/or project management is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support to lighting trade allies to promote the use of energy efficient equipment and incentives.
Help trade allies verify project eligibility
Support trade allies in application completion
Deliver sales and training presentations to provide trade allies with an understanding of the value of incentive programs
Respond to trade ally and project inquires professionally, accurately and completely.
Coordinate with internal partners to ensure accurate and consistent communication among outreach team
Conduct outreach activities to recruit, develop and manage formal and informal trade ally networks.
Support an annual Trade Ally RFP process for the Program
Conduct on-site field inspections for pre- and post-installation verification of various lighting and mechanical equipment
Support project managers and marketing teams with the development and execution of marketing plans and deliverables
o Develop and implement territory management plan
o Report on market conditions within territory
o Identify and report new opportunities in territory
Trade ally management and outreach
o Develop and implement account management plan
o Identify ally recruitment and retention opportunities
o Develop and implement Outreach plans to address target trade allies and contact strategies
o Recruit new trade allies
o Retain current trade allies
o Provide program education and training to allies
Customer Support / Client Support
o Provide customer support on projects as needed
o Establish and maintain professional client rapport
Project pipeline management
o Monitor upcoming and current projects
o Develop project leads and see through to completion
o Ensure projects are moving through pipeline to completion
o Perform site visits and inspections as needed
o Report on daily activities, special assignments and events as requested
o Write technical reports and operational manuals
o Provide regular updates on upcoming goals, activities and successes or challenges
Business management, construction, engineering, marketing or related degree is required or other directly-related commensurate experience.
3+ years of experience in the lighting or electrical industry. Experience in non-lighting commercial building technologies, sales, and/or project management is a plus.
Experience in professional sales, account management, marketing, business management or project management
Knowledge and familiarity of the Utah commercial building market is desired.
Excellent ability to develop and present business cases to industry manufacturers, distributors, retailers and/or contractors
Strong analytical skills with ability to manage multiple time-dependent tasks simultaneously
Excellent verbal communication, writing, interpersonal, sales, marketing and analytical skills
Experience and aptitude with working in team environment, as well as independently without direct supervision
Planning, organization and self-management in a professional environment a must
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and the ability to learn and operate company proprietary computer software is required
Ability and comfort using small tools, ladders and power equipment
Must have a valid U.S. driver?s license and have a personal vehicle to visit customer sites
Strong attention to detail and follow-through in a fast pace environment
C.E.M. or LEED AP certification is a plus
