About the Job
The following is a representative description of the position?s role and responsibilities. Reflecting the flexible nature of our work, Nexant will adjust this description as necessary to meet operating and strategic needs of its business.
We are currently seeking a Program Representative II to support the Energy Efficiency - Implementation Support team in our Salt Lake City, UT office. The successful candidate will have 3+ years of sales or outreach experience, preferably related to commercial building design or HVAC. This position will be focused on the continuing recruitment, training, and management of the trade ally network for Rocky Mountain Power and Questar Gas Commercial Energy Efficiency Programs. This position consists of working with trade allies, individually and in group settings to maximize their participation. Provide consistent and timely support as the key contact for potential and participating trade allies for the Utility commercial incentive programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical outreach to promote energy efficiency through the creation and management of formal and informal trade alliance networks
o Develop and implement territory management plan
o Report on market conditions within territory
o Identify and report new opportunities in territory
Account management (trade ally management)
o Develop and implement account management plan
o Identify ally recruitment and retention opportunities
Trade Ally outreach
o Develop and implement Outreach plans to address target trade allies and contact strategies
o Recruit new trade allies
o Retain current trade allies
o Provide program education and training to allies
Trade Ally Support
o Support trade allies in identifying qualifying projects
o Calculate and review customer incentive payments
o Support trade allies in application completion
o Deliver sales and training presentations to provide trade allies with an understanding of the value of incentive programs
o Respond to trade ally and project inquires professionally, accurately and completely.
Customer Support / Client Support
o Provide customer support on projects as needed
o Establish and maintain professional client rapport
Project pipeline management
o Monitor upcoming and current projects
o Develop project leads and see through to completion
o Ensure projects are moving through pipeline to completion
o Perform site visits and inspections as needed
o Report and record activities on a weekly basis for payroll compliance
o Maintain accurate records of contacts, opportunities and communications in designated database
o Report on special assignments and events as requested
o Provide status reports to manager for upcoming goals, activities and recent successes or challenges
A Business Management, Construction, Engineering, Marketing or related degree is required or other directly-related commensurate experience
3+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical design/engineering, building controls, utility DSM, energy efficiency design commercial building construction or other commercial building-related experience
2+ years of experience in professional sales, account management, marketing, business management or project management
Knowledge and familiarity of the Utah commercial building market is desired.
Excellent ability to develop and present business cases to industry manufacturers, distributors, retailers and/or contractors
Strong analytical skills with ability to manage multiple time-dependent tasks simultaneously
Excellent oral communication, writing, interpersonal, sales, marketing and analytical skills
Experience and aptitude with working in team environment, as well as independently without direct supervision
Planning, organization and self-management in a professional environment a must
Ability to communicate, council, and sell concepts at all levels of an organization
C.E.M. or LEED AP certification is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and the ability to learn and operate company proprietary computer software is required
Ability and comfort using small tools, ladders and power equipment
Must have a valid U.S. driver?s license and have a personal vehicle to visit customer sites
Strong attention to detail and follow-through in a fast pace environment
