Programmer Intern Sportvision
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We are scouting for a Programmer Intern. As a Programmer Intern, you'll work in a small team creating a state of art computer vision system which digitally records the positions and behavior of all players and ball(s) on a baseball field in real time.
Initially you will be responsible for refactoring the MySQL database code into C++ (from C), creating connection pools, writing stored procedures, identifying inefficiencies and removing them, and producing data quality tools to measure the quality of the data in the database.
As you progress through the program, you will take a more generalized role on the team, depending on the skills that you have and demonstrate. Enthusiasm for solving interesting and complex problems is a MUST.

Entering or currently in your Junior or Senior year of college in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.Show proficiency in C++, Object Oriented programming and SQL database skills.
Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts.
Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, attention-to-detail, problem-solving skills and work well in a team environment.
Self-starter and motivated to create well engineered software components and systems.
Must be willing to travel to sporting events on weekends (on occasion).
DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Classes in probability and statistics, linear algebra, and/or calculus.
Experience in creating GUIs, particularly with Qt.
Classes or experience in Computer Vision.
MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Interest in and knowledge of sports and/or baseball statistics.

The candidate chosen for this role will build and strengthen a broad array of skills, including: analytical, problem solving and mathematical skills, understanding sports broadcast video technology, increase knowledge of database, data processing and interaction, learn efficient programming in established framework and time-constrained environment and the design of complex, dynamic software programs that are seen on National television.
