Programmer, Online Survey Development Knowledge Networks
Knowledge Networks, a GfK company, is seeking a programmer or senior programmer to work in the IBM Data Collection (formerly SPSS Dimensions) survey platform. Candidates will have one or more years of experience using the IBM Data Collection Author Professional development environment (formerly SPSS mrStudio).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The programmer will join an existing team of survey programmers and be responsible for both:
The technical aspects of online market research execution and,
Assisting with process automation and standards improvement.
Working with limited supervision, the programmer will use the IBM Data Collection platform to script surveys, manage data and associated deliverables, and develop custom features.
The position will work closely with internal client teams. As teams are distributed across the country, a candidate must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Key day-to-day activities are: survey scripting, quality assurance support, data manipulation, tabulation, email/phone communication, and meeting deadlines for assigned work.
GfK is a market research company and, as such, the programmer should have or expect to gain an overall understanding of market research and questionnaire design.
The role requires a technically-adept person who is detail-oriented, process-driven, and able to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Projects have short development/QA life-cycles and require a high-level of responsiveness and quality.
Experience and Skill
One or more years experience developing surveys with the IBM Data Collection (formerly SPSS Dimensions) products and data model, in particular Author Professional (formerly SPSS mrStudio).
Skilled in HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook.
A basic understanding of the online market research business.
Experience with online surveys, tabulation, or automation scripts.
Past experience working with a non-technical user base to develop technical solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; work well under pressure.
Detail-oriented and precise, with a focus on deliverables.
Works well with distributed teammates.
Additional skills considered:
Knowledge of AJAX, HTML5, .NET, VBA, SQL.
Knowledge of SPSS Base, SAS, Quantum or similar packages.
Digital multimedia experience (Flash, Photoshop, A/V editing).
Knowledge of statistics.
Spanish.
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor?s degree, technical disciplines strongly preferred.
