Programming Summer Intern Aras
Aras is a fast growing enterprise software company based in Andover, MA. Our software is used by the largest, most advanced manufacturing companies in the world. We are seeking talented and motivated undergraduate students to join our team as programming interns this summer. Interns who perform well may be offered ongoing part time work, six month coop or full time opportunities.As an intern, you will be given the same responsibilities and opportunities to work on interesting technologies as our full time programmers. Projects for the summer 2013 session include several web site portals, a community development project site, several Silverlight applications, 2D and 3D engineering data viewers, and potentially some Mobile Apps (Windows 8 and Android). All projects will require both front end (user interface/apps) and back ? end (database and web service) development. The projects are real and your code will be used by the Aras Community.
Tools/ Technologies that will be used include:
ASP.NET (VB and C#)
Silverlight
HTML5/CSS 3
XML
JavaScript (Dojo Toolkit experience a plus)
Java (for Android mobile/tablet apps)
Responsibilities:
o Capture the use cases and the integrated requirements ( form layout, workflow, where data comes from, and where data will be stored )
o Create test plans for use cases
o Develop prototypes or proof of concept programs for user acceptance testing
o Develop and release the code
o Provide developer support documentation as required
CS majors are encouraged to apply but we are happy to talk with any Engineering students with programming experience and a desire to improve their programming skills. The projects at Aras Corp are not academic exercises; we expect that you already know how to program, and you?ll leave with real work experience for your resume.
