Verilogue is seeking an experienced professional in Instructional Design (ID) in designing high-quality, engaging, multimedia, workshop and print-based instructional materials and programs.
Job Description
Contribute to the Company?s goal of providing superior training standards. Provide guidance to the teams developing online assessment and instruction delivered with interactive digital content, video, and other technologies.
Participate in client meetings and pitches to present and explain the Company?s Instructional Design Value Proposition; consult and negotiate with clients regarding ID direction based on client input.
Collaborate with subject-matter experts and development leads to ensure that program content, learning objectives, and delivery modes meet stated client specifications.
Analyze existing online products and identify opportunities to adapt materials for more cost-beneficial multiple formats.
Help create and support instructional design principles that are firmly based on the best evidence from current research and best practices in instructional technology, cognitive psychology, and the constraints of different media.
Conceptualize and create approaches for multimedia content presentation (e.g., video, interactive online activities, games, animation, exercises, and progress checks) that maximize and assess learner understanding of content. Generate project specifications and wireframes to guide the technology team.
Apply a systematic evidence-based instructional design and development model based on cognitive learning and instructional theory to create storyboards, scripts, and other content.
Review and revise content for instructional soundness, pace, consistency of tone and style, visual appeal, and ability to engage learners.
Work closely with creative team to develop and provide visual design specifications for corresponding graphics, photos, illustrations and animations reflecting the current specifications suggested by cognitive load theory.
Lead, manage, mentor, and train ID staff. Lead and drive efficiency measures, including training and optimization of outsource staff and freelancers.
Key Competencies
Advanced knowledge of adult learning theory and key instructional design methodologies with the ability to own and articulate a compelling vision for adult learning design;
Ability to communicate effectively in visual, oral and written forms;
Strong conceptual thinking and ability to take raw content and create curriculum that supports delivering an engaging learning experience;
Ability to evaluate and assess instruction and improve instructional materials;
Proven ability to establish objectives, identify problems, analyze data, translate analysis into practical learning solutions and deliver creative solutions;
Strong project management skills and experience with managing multiple projects;
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on large-scale projects and build consensus across multiple stakeholders;
Qualifications
Master?s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field as well as familiarity with current research on instruction and learning;
Minimum 8+ years experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry designing and developing diverse instructional content and products, preferably in an e-learning environment;
Solid understanding of cognitive learning theory and instructional technology;
Excellent technology skills, including Web development tools (e.g., Flash, Dreamweaver, Articulate, HTML, and XML) are essential.
