Job Description :
This position supports Project Controls Manager, the General Manager, the Manager of Projects, Project Managers on multiple and/ or very large complex projects. Develops and maintains cost estimates, tracks and trends project costs and cash flow, develops and maintains work breakdown structure, schedule, and change control documentation. Track and report project status, and perform variance, earned value and critical path analyses at a level appropriate for the project. Maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect. Aids in the resolution of quality issues, completes assignments (proposals, project tasks, reports, etc) within negotiated budgets and schedules. Review ontracts for clarity and identify contract specific requirements. Keep project manager informed of related project financial status and identify potential problems as well as improvements. This should be on a formal and informal basis. Develop and maintain current, accurate project schedules and status with sufficient detail. Develop project work breakdown structure appropriate for project in development of cost estimates and budget information. Assist in the identification of project resource needs (people, materials, equipment). Provide input to ongoing identification and documentation of lessons learned. Conduct work activities in accordance with project management policies and procedures. Initiation and maintenance of accurate project setup. Establishing/maintaining change control and risk management processes Work effectively in a team environment. Establish reporting and status for project team, management and customers. Track and trend project status; anticipate problems and advise team; perform variance and critical path analysis. Develop presentations for management team as well as teammates. Act as project consultant to the project team for cost and scheduling tracking issues. Facilitate problem-solving sessions with project team members of diverse backgrounds when intervention is needed for cost or schedule control. Basic Qualifications: Associate Degree in technical or business curriculum plus completion of seven (7) years relevant experience, or a Baccalaureate degree plus completion of five (5) years relevant experience, or completion of ten (10) years relevant and equivalent experience. Expertise in the use of personal computers and software applications with MS office and scheduling application proficiency. Strong analytical skills. Expertise in the communication skills required for the project environment. Proven track record (record of accomplishment) of correspondence management practices, and establishing and developing correspondence systems for internal and external customers. Expertise in project control related activities associated with design, procurement, and construction. Expertise in analyzing, integrating, trending, and forecasting cost / schedule information for projects. Expertise in project estimating, budgeting, planning, task duration scheduling, and the Work Breakdown Structure. Proven track record in project accounting practices and financial systems (e.g., revenue recognition, invoicing and cash flow, system input and reporting requirements related to projects). Proven track record working in a diversified project environment. Proven track record of project control for various contract types; time and materials, fixed-price, and cost plus. Proven track record as a team player with focus on the team and success. Desired Qualifications: Expertise in project controls related to multiple disciplines; electrical, mechanical, civil, and I&C. Expertise in personal computer software such as MS Project, Primavera, FMIS and SureTrak. Expertise in effective interaction with contractors and management. Expertise in the change control process and risk management process.
